FYI, if you don’t care about color, looks like you can still get a gold 11 Pro on launch day still to this moment, and I think the Pro Max too. Funny thing is, silver and space gray are still back ordered till October along with midnight green of course. Gold used to be the most popular color, but I guess it’s losing its appeal now.

I personaly myself bought a iPhone 11 Pro Max in Gold with 512 GB. I think its a lovely color and I'm coming from an iPhone SE. My friend got the XS last year in gold and i was instantly in love with it. I just guess people are buying the new green color cause they want to get seen with the new iPhones in their hands. Just unlucky when the theifs also sees it, ahah :D :p <3

Or they’re just buying green because they like it? Certainly the case for me.

I never liked the gold, but I seriously considered the green before going with the silver, yet again. The green is really nice, and a new color for iPhones.

The triple cameras will make it clear, no matter the color.

The gold just isn't as appealing for many as it was when it first came out on the older phones. I got it last year because it looked cool on the promotional video. once I had it in had a few days, I quickly exchanged it for Space Grey. The sides began to darken and it contrasted badly with the creamy gold back of the phone. Just not as appealing. I think I speak for the majority as evidenced by the tepid response to it this year.

I don’t think gold has ever been the most popular colour choice. I’d bet my life that production numbers of both space grey and silver are at least double - hence gold selling out faster.

I almost went for the green until seeing the pictures of it scratching so easily. My Space Grey XS Max has been through hell and doesn't have a scratch on it, so I went with that again.

Gold was the cool, “new” color to differentiate new iPhones (as superficial as it sounds). Now it’s Midnight Green’s job.

Examples:
5->5S
6->6S (Rose Gold)
7 (Jet Black)
X->XS

I noticed this also, I don't get it, unless perhaps Apple made more Gold than the other colors? I can understand the Midnight Green selling out even though it looks HIDEOUS to me, others want the newest color no matter what it looks like. Most everyone is going to put a case on the iPhone so you won't see the color anyone unless you use one of the ugly clear cases...

I too Love the Gold. I guess we're not one of the crowd.

Yeah, forget that M Green, you know exactly what they're showing off. But the Camera Trio on the iPhone 11 is a dead giveaway you have the latest no matter what color.

gold is over :D
I would have gone for Midnight Blue, but never Green, UGGH!

Yeah, each year it appears that whoever color is new is the most in demand. I remember when the gold color first came out and they were almost unobtanium then. That and the many threads created on whether or not it would be acceptable for guys to have that color.

I ordered my iPhone 11 Pro late last night. Only two variations were available for launch day delivery — Gold Pro and Silver Pro Max.

This was 10 hours after the pre-ordering window opened.

Yeah, it was the Choice for the Ladies instantly, then the Guys accepted it too. I Love the Gold still. To me it's the most beautiful option.

My current phone is a gold Xs Max and can’t wait to get rid of it when my midnight Green Pro Max comes in.

I mean, if you insist... :)

Just ordered a second one in Gold in addition to Midnight Green, will probably do a color comparison review and then upgrade my a family member's phone with one of them

Even though both are great I think Midnight Green will be difficult to match with non-ostentatious colors (after browsing Apple's leather cases and seeing mockups). Gold is, at least, subtle ostentatious :p in a dark case

Will know for sure in person

Yes, during the keynote on 9/10/19 Phil used the words "a new Gold", so in fact all the colors and finishes are new and different from the 2018 color choices.

It's a bit different but doesn't elicit the same "wow, yeah, that's the new iPhone" reaction IMO

(no judgement from me if that's why people buy a new iPhone)

Luckily for me, I’m a naked iPhone handler.
