Meh, I haven't used Bing that much, but the other day I saw a TED video where the head of the Bing Maps division was showing some of the new features and I have to say it was DAMN impressive.

Has anyone tried that yet?

I'm not an anti-Windows zealot... but there's really nothing missing from Google that I feel Bing does better. The only times I use Bing are when, for some reason, I can't access google.

BING sucks. I tried a search today at work today on someone else's computer that had BING as the default. The company name I put in did not come up at all on the first page of suggested hits, so I then pulled up Google and there it was, the first hit. I don't understand the issue, but like it or not, the Google search engine works better that BING. I sure hope this doesn't mean that we can ONLY have BING.

I mean Apple, my gosh, just pick a few phrases, names, etc and try BING and then try Google, and you will see what everyone that has tried it thinks about BING. If you did you wouldn't even consider offering it for your products. Its that bad. Like the poster earlier, the few times I have tried it, NOT even in the ballpark.......

after 15 years MS finally did something with Virtual Earth. it was always better than Google Maps, but for some reason MS never did anything with it

i've been using Bing lately to get album art that iTunes can't get for me. it's a lot better than Google. so much better that i don't even bother to search Google anymore for an image.

I was actually quite impressed with the demo of Bing-powered search in Windows Phone 7.

Searching "Avatar" for example pulled up not only links to the movie in IMDB and Wikipedia like what google does, but it also pulled up all the showtimes for the 10 or so closest theaters, searched for business nearby and mapped locations in the search results.

While Google offers all of these same features, the demo illustrated how great of a job Microsoft has done at sorting and presenting all of that information in one place.

I have used that feature in the google app maps on my iPod touch for over a year now. Yes Microsoft has caught up well, but they don't appear to really be breaking much new ground here.

tried it on my iphone and the bing is better. i search in google maps and it only brings up theaters close by.

i search via the bing app and the first results are the show times based on my location

But Yahoo...

Already hacked my effing iPhone - I went to their website once, and a popup came up asking to make Yahoo me DEFAULT BROWSER:mad:! I was typing, so I accidentally hit OK, and I have no effing idea how to change it back to Google. If they can do that, then who cares? People can switch to bing all they want - honestly, I'd rather have that than Yahoo. UGH.

I think some people really need to give Bing an honest try.

Not just for normal searches...but more specific searches i think they eclipse Google. From maps, to video to pictures to Movie listings to restaurant reviews.

All better than Google.

Just my opinion though.

In google, your results depend on how far out you are zoomed from your current location.
