You really add very little to these conversations. Its very obvious you hate Apple. You have yet to prove anything you say about Apple and how they track you as Google does yet you continue to make post after post alluding to this. Move on already. There are MS and Google forums all over the internet.Following apples lead!
I don't. I get a laugh at everyone claiming google is the devil, however apple does the exact same thing and everyone is fine with it. There is no difference. I use an iPhone. it's not because of the extra security of my privacy. It was due to polish of the OS, which, has now gone down the crapper as Tim and co. are only worried about their beloved money. The truth hurts. Prove apple doesn't, other than their marketing rhetoric. which means zero. They tell their min....I mean users exactly what they want to hear so Apple can collect the greenbacks. Simple. They are NO BETTER THAN GOOGLE. It is just they are back handed about it.You really add very little to these conversations. Its very obvious you hate Apple. It’s not a coincidence if it’s regularly occurring.Just a funny coincidence.
Instagram isn’t listening in the background to you or me or anyone in dozens or hundreds of languages, with zero effect on battery life, and it’s impossible for an app to get rid of the small “recording” dot.
Also, toggling off tracking has zero effect in Instagram’s ability to show you relevant ads based on accounts you follow, what posts you like and whatever information they already have on your profile.
What? Apple has literally had this possibility since iOS 10, and still does via "Ask apps not to track", it's literally the same thing, it's just that Apple also has an option where individual apps actually can be allowed to track me.Google's approach here is far better than Apple's !
People outside the tech bubble seem to understand and appreciate A LOT Apple’s anti-tracking push, much more than I was expecting. It’s quickly becoming a selling point.
Google have to begrudgingly react somehow.

You mentioned your issue right in your post: Instagram (Facebook). I was reading something a while back about a security issue where Instagram and possibly other Facebook apps if given permission to access your photos, mic etc. the ads are much more targeted because it will always listen. I you want to check - disable all the access rights you have given Instagram and have your friend so the same.I am almost disappointed by the lack of Apps that I am using that seem to have tracked me that way before due to the lack of pop ups I am receiving compared to the specific ads I always get. Instagram is still as specific with ads as before which is down right creepy. Yesterday I was meeting a friend with our dogs outside and my friend was mentioning how he is on his 50 day streak of learning spanish with duo lingo and just as I get home I am getting an ad for learning spanish in 30 days
I agree completely. I have no Google or Facebook apps on any of my devices. I have also opted to pay for a private email to limit google's reach on me. I still have to use Google for work, but my personal stuff is out of their hands.Every time I see an Android phone I really want (to try something new), I remind myself that I'm not willing to sell my soul to Google so they can predict my entire existence. Moving away from Google to Duckduckgo makes me sleep better at night
So let me, if you don’t mind, ask you about using DuckDuckGo as your search engine. Are results roughly on par with Google or are they a little in the sub par compared to Google but you’re fine with that because of the privacy. I tried them once a couple years back and I would get some weird results but maybe I need to try again and see how things work.Every time I see an Android phone I really want (to try something new), I remind myself that I'm not willing to sell my soul to Google so they can predict my entire existence. They probably developed a better way to track every move people make and they are trying to get a little bit of good PR when they discontinue this one.I wonder what the catch is? 🧐
