Oh wow okay so I looked at what their blog post actually said and the MR article is misleading. They’re NOT implying people shouldn’t purchase an Android. They’re just addressing the people who already purchased an iPhone and who use their services and letting them know they can use widgets.
ok, phew :) never mind the drug reference then :)

Yeah, I've been steadily trying to get Google out of my life - this seems like it'd be a step in the wrong direction. :p

If only I could quit you, YouTube!!!

While I’m firmly entrenched in the “over my dead body” camp on this, a friend of mine is all in on Google & has been for quite some time. I think his first Apple device is an Apple TV 4K, he then bought his wife an iPad and said he’s tempted after seeing the iPhone 13 camera.

He might actually benefit from this setup.
I'm sure there's many more similar cases to your friend... When you really think about it Google is kind of screwing over there hardware partners like Samsung, LG, etc.... Now you can get the quality build of an iphone, the stability and upgradeability of iOS while still staying in the Google garden.

Good catch... But I think there will be a lot of eyeballs on this article and it wont just be folks who already purchased the 13.... while its geared for that crowd... Someone who owns an android and happens to see this can be like hmmmmm, maybe I can just get a flashy new iphone and still do everything I am currently doing on this android.

Uh, doesn't this poke a hole in the idea that Apple forces users to use only the Apple programs? I mean, Google just basically said "You can replace all the Apple programs with ours!", and gave instructions on how to do that. It's like they handed Apple a gift in all of the antitrust litigation going on.
Except for having to obtain those apps through the App store is the only way to install them.

My workplace is Microsoft heavy, and I generally don't use Microsoft apps in my off hours so I use the work Focus Mode to show a work specific home screen during work hours and hide it when not in working hours.

What is this sorcery? (You don’t need to answer I’ll go look it up for myself. It’s clearly something I’ve overlooked thus far.)

You can hide home screens in focus modes.

What's frustrating me about focus modes, and maybe this is just my own work flow issue, is that every time I create one, I end up feeling like I have to include more than exclude - whether it's apps, people notifications, etc... I need it to work the other way around! :)

The author has clearly never used an android phone.

Or read the post they're reporting on for that matter.

My office is heavy G Suite user and they require us the use Google apps per our security policy. I long for a day then I can hopefully use my Apple Apps again!

Ironic, seeing as I switched to iPhone to make my device act LESS like Android.

While I'm happy to live in an Apple hardware world, I'll use whatever app which will do the best job for me - doesn't matter if it's Apple or Google.

It is there, has been there for over a month.
You need to pay for youtube premium, but that is the same case on Android devices.
They supposed to be bringing it to all users regardless if you have premium or not.
