Good lord, I would be happy about the contrary: if only one minute of YouTube could eat up all my battery, I would be much better off doing something useful instead...

I don't love Chrome as I actually think Edge is more advanced these days but man I am starting to worry at the level of Apple software lag in terms of modern features. Looking at AI, Siri, iOS, iPad OS, and even Ventura it looks to me like Apple is constantly focusing on silly stuff like Animojis while ignoring what people actually want and request.

Good thing for Apple Android is in a terrible state right now.

Apple could have bought OpenAI, instead, it’s bought by MS.

Free ad blocker vs YouTube Premium for $11.99/mo or $119.99/yr.

Tough decision 🤣
Is it possible to block YouTube ads on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV without YouTube Premium or jailbreak? The closest that I found is an app Adlock but it seems rather cumbersome to use, and it's not possible on Apple TV.

Brave > Edge > Opera > Firefox > Safari > Aloha > Chrome and in that order. Mobile iOS anyway.

Well, good for Chrome users. Meanwhile, I still won’t install Chrome on any of my computers, Mac or Windows.

I trust MS more with conversational AI than Apple. It's been over 10 years and Siri is still terrible.
Well, that’s a conundrum. Apple got Siri by buying it in the first place, so to get it to be better, then Apple need to buy something better. 😂

For those on Premium, that would be zero! :) Otherwise, it does depend on the programming. AFAIK... it's roughly an ad every 3 to 5 minutes, for 5 to 30 seconds ?

you can block ads and even block sponsors with sponsorblock.

Yes.

Well at least we know who is behind the development of Chrome now... cats! They want you to watch even more YouTube cat videos to lull you into a false sense of security, one cat will lay on your lap top preventing you from getting up whilst all the other cats take over the world!

Random but I’ve changed my default search engine on safari to DuckDuckGo as I’ve gotten somewhat anti Google now. It’s great! So I wouldn’t be going back to chrome unfortunately

Too bad it works much worse.

Any graphs comparing the improved power consumption to other browsers when watching the same videos?
It doesn't matter if chrome uses half the power that it used to if it's still way more than other browsers...

Can’t tell if you’re being serious. Power consumption of browser? Vs what? A lawnmower ?

I don't care what "optimizations" Google makes I am not switching off Firefox

Lol as FireFox continues to lose even more market share month after month.
