Nor has there been one that has said the opposite (to be fair, they HAVE said that broadcasting over the network from a centralized location IS violative of copyright). ANd my point was that this invites a lawsuit. I have not opined on the result of the lawsuit.
Your premise is wrong. It is a copyright violation, and yet we still see media streamers.
Steve Jobs is trying to milk the platform for everything it's got. He sees big bucks in media and apps, and in advertising.
Make no mistake about it, that's why he keeps the platform so tightly closed.
OTA app download, App Store app has it already, check...
Wireless music downloads, well iTunes app, check...
Streaming my music collection, Simplify had its app in App Store for a few months now, so well check that, too... (By the way, does that mean I need to keep my home computer on and leave some ports open in my routers? If so, I don't see this as a big deal for many people.)
No need to wait... check...![]()
Since you keep bringing it up, I am well aware of the extent of your knowledge: a junior attorney in an obscure firm, with a degree from a third-rate law school. I wouldn't wave that flag around. Particularly since one of your partners may notice the frequency of your posts.
How is what Google is doing different from Sling, or Orb, or any cloud-syncing scheme?
Also, why do you assume Google's in-house legal team is made up of idiots?
Well, actually you have:
But who's keeping track![]()
Google, please focus back on what you did well - search engines. PLEASE.
And a lot of the "amazing" applications that Apple provides, were actually once applications that were created by other companies. Apple purchased said companies and re-branded/re-worked the existing application(s) and ideas into Apple-branded apps, and then released them.Google isn't innovating. They are simply buying companies and copying Apple ideas.
I have no problem with Apple branching out into other markets.Apple, please focus back on what you did well - Computers. Please.
You gonna take this sitting down steve?
I use google. Plain and simple, but they are collecting too much information on me now.
I'm gonna have to find a way to quit you google.

These "features" won't be here until mid-2011.
By then Apple will have a much better system in place and running.
Sorry but Simplify Media was a great idea with spotty implementation. Try streaming from a library with over 8000 tracks and see how it takes over an hour to update the library data before you can play a track. I stopped using it a while ago. Honestly, sync and change and get more capacity each revision, but OTA streaming of music catalogs is unnecessary, network dependent and straining, relies too much on having a consistent signal which isn't easy while driving. Not to mention the battery drain of streaming.

Mac sales are at all-time highs.

Google needs to stop copying.
They are so corrupt and you are all blind if you don't agree.
You do realize that Mac OS X 10.5 and above has a transparent menu bar similar to Vista's use of transparent windows? So in retrospective, Apple copied Microsoft; just executed differently due to the interface. But the most obvious is Mac OS X's subtle use of the maximize, minimize, and close buttons. Windows has had that since 95.![]()
Google has been ripping apple all day at their press conference.
Remember when they were friends?
Look and feel? That's the best you can come up with? In case you missed it, that was settled back in 1994 (before your precious window buttons were even introduced). Anything Apple borrowed after that was fair game thanks to the court's decision. Tough how that works out, huh?

Indeed. I liked it when Apple and Google were friends.. but then google got greedy.

He was responding to "Google, please focus back on what you did well - search engines. PLEASE." which is a stupid request as they seem to be doing well too.
Looks okay for Apple and Google to me....
