I owned a Pixel 3 and now have the iPhone 11. Google has some good ideas in there, but I will knock it for going telephoto instead of wide angle. On the plus side the Pixels use an OLED screen and iPhone really should have ALL their phones using OLED. It would help slim down the iPhone 11 Non-Pro models for one and give even better battery life. iPhone can once again claim the best camera. One interesting thing about the 90hz screen on the Pixel 4 is that it won't matter combined with Android. I don't know why, but all android phones have horrendously clumsy "scrolling". It has to be a software thing. I do like my iPhone 11 though. Good choices were to eliminate 3d touch and make it a hair thicker for more battery life. Apple was right to ignore 5G, you literally need an almost direct line of sight to the tower to get 5G speeds. If you are inside a home or building, then 5G just disappears. It's way over-hyped. Siri is still dumb compared to google assistant, but I just don't use voice commands that much. I will also knock Android for the most annoying notification system ever. You simply cannot clear notifications without them popping up again throughout the day... it goes like this "Notification... 15m" [swipe to clear] a while later "Same Damn Notification... 2hr" [swipe to clear] ... "Same Damn Notification a 3rd time!... 3hr" [swipe to clear]. But I did really like Android 10's universal swipe from either the left or right side of screen in order to go "back" in all applications. iOS has it implemented on an app by app basis and ONLY swiping from the left which is annoying since most people hold their phone in their right hand. Also, it's nice that Android would let me choose what music app I like. I get "why" apple forces you into Apple Music, but I still wish I could just choose Spotify as my default music app. I'm trying Apple Music again and it's just nowhere as good as Spotify. Pricing wise Google is overshooting a bunch considering the hardware. Basically, both Google and Apple have their pro's and con's. I'll give Apple the edge for overall more solid experience, but I give a nod to Google for taking risks and trying to usher in new ideas and tech.

You can go on all you like. Properly need to head over to android central forums which seems to be where you need to talk phones

If you don’t know what iPhones are about by now you have no hope

There’s a reason everybody buys them

Ecosystem
Support
Great apps that get developed
Syncs with your devices
Great performance
Consistent updates every year
Great cameras
Great video recording

The list is endless really but dependable, performance and support is priceless something android can’t deliver on a long term basics and why people keep coming back

iPhone/Apple Watch and iPad combo are something android can not complete with

However if you enjoy android do so...bit it’s not hard to understand why people buy iPhones
Everything you listed is subjective. For example if I told you Siri is trash, that is a fact.

You come back with great apps and support SMH

Err I came back with more than enough reasons why people buy iPhones over android devices...the fact you had to even ask this question makes me think you are uneducated about iPhones

Voice assistants are not important on phones so for me Siri being trash means very little

They are useful on smart speakers but not
Phones

So let's recap:
1. the camera on the Pixel 4 is lightyears ahead of the one on the iPhone.
2. The display is as well.
3. FaceID on Pixel is instant.
...and somehow, people here still find ways lie to themselves that the iphone's better. Amazing!

i cant really make it if you are being serious or sarcastic as it is usually the case in this forum.
cant Imagine you being serious on any of these 3 points.
let’s see why, shall we?

Camera on the iPhone beats the crap on any smartphone, particularly on the video where it makes all other smartphones feel like something from the Stone Age.
The 90hz refresh is nice but something only Geeks give a crap.
Face ID could be instant on iPhone also, but I need to look at the home screen most times, so that is nothing groundbreaking here.
Let me recap! Another ****** phone just like year, and the craziest part is that they think they can get away with Apple like prices! Which makes me wonder what kind of **** these Google people have been smoking?

Maybe for video but it boils down to preference. The ultra wide, on the other hand, is more of a tick mark since it has mediocre image quality with severe distortion and only fixed focus as compared to, for example, Galaxy Note 10+. Also, it can't compete with Google's photo image processing and Night Sight v2.

It's funny how Fandroids accused the iPhone of not being innovative or just being a repeat of last years, and yet they'll still claim this is the fastest phone with the best camera system based off what the on-paper specs show. And yet, this phone is using what will soon be last years processor, a telephoto camera instead of an ultra-wide, can't even record at 4K, and has a smaller battery than last year's. I'm so ready to see this phone fail, and hope Google will get the memo that they're a better software & services company than a hardware company.

Yeah, it just feels like very awkward timing, especially when Apple added more cameras and actually increased their battery capacity at the expense of thicker and heavier phones.

What niche is google even trying to appeal to here?

They’re just trying to have a foot in the door. But they’re making a fool out of themselves in the process.

I worked for Apple for 7 years, is that educated enough for you chief

Could have fooled me, if that is the case why are you even asking why people are buying them over android? If you worked for Apple you should already know.

You are coming off bitter about iPhones

If you enjoy android that’s great. Doesn’t mean iPhones aren’t great for most people

Actually, considering the context you're using "trash", you're actually making an opinion using a metaphor. Unless, of course, you think Siri can actually be thrown in the trash.

Kudos for trying to be cute, but you cannot state an opinion like "x and y are trash" unless they are literally physical rubbish worthy of throwing away.

So no other phone can compete with iPhone 11 video, but night mode be night site is a preference. To state this another way.
