iOS (esp iPadOS) is way ahead of ChromeOS. I can play the same game with ChromeOS as I do with Android - name the top 10 high-end Apps for ChromeOS and there will easily be several on iOS that are far better/more powerful.
Yup. That's key. The app ecosystem is non-existent on ChromeOS and I can install Chrome on my MacBook Air and I have all the capability of a Chromebook.

Macbook Air runs macOS....here was a debate between whos more limited between chromeOS and iOS(ipadOS)...iPadOS is far ahead now...chromebooks should run like an ipad...but with a lower price than an ipad pro...but to achieve that you must go with pixelbook go i5 and 128ssd...and thats already there at 850$
so...for around the same price...why would you pick an laptop like chromeOS when you have a better ipadOS?!

Jesus I was considering the Chromebook until I saw the prices. I use my $250 Asus Chromebook right now to pay bills and stream to my Vizio TV on occasion. Are they out of their minds with the pricing? I could buy an amazing Asus Zenbook with a full OS for those prices.

Full price for Linux only laptops....
Who pays that much for just a Chrome browser?? Like you said, your $250 laptop also has Chrome.

Looks great from the back. The 2015 bezels on the front are very ugly - they could certainly have done a little bit better at least? Also: huge phone with relatively little screen real estate, camera unlikely much better than the Pixel 3's, video capabilities sub-par. Don't think this will be a huge hit for Google tbh.

I frankly don’t see where the supposed camera improvements are. With just a 2x telephoto lens, this is basically just an iPhone X.

Oh, it can take astrophotography? So can the 11.

With the Pixel 4, Google says you can fine-tune the brightness and amount of detail in the shadows, helping with difficult shots like sunset portraits

Oh, so like every with practically every camera or photo editing app ever?

Looking forward to Apple copying Night Sight v2 for future iPhones.
It will be interesting to see side-by-side reviews of the the Pixel 4 and iPhone 11 Pro - - I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Google had lost it's early lead in night photography.

I think the Google Pixel 4 looks ugly. I saw renders of what the phone could have looked like. I also think the Google Pixel 4 should have had 3 cameras because of the design. Imo Google has always lacked in design.

All that said, if I ever went to or got an Android, I would go for a Google Pixel or One Plus (even though (iirc) you can't get a One Plus in Australia through their site.)

The verge LOL
Next up, I wanted to try something with some color mixed with a lot of natural light that floods into Greenwich Market during the daytime. You’ll notice that the Pixel 4 does a much better job of balancing the light from the ceiling here, with far less saturation than the iPhone.

I do like the way the pixel's face looks. This would be my ideal iPhone. No, I'm not still complaining about the notch. I live with it and it doesn't keep me up at night. But I think this overall looks cleaner

Disappointed in the camera. Was expecting google to keep that train going full steam. Maybe it got so good in the last few years that there isn't very far to go.

Why would anyone buy Google products they will abandon in 2-3 yrs just like they always do?
Abandon in what way? Isn't the original pixel still receiving updates?

Ya not digging the phone design much either and I'm not sure what a being a long GOOGL is, but ya, Google's only good at ads and data mining right? Not like they have created one of the top two smartphone operating systems and up until possibly the iphone 11 pro the best camera softwear (TBD with the pixel 4). Guess they also didn't create best maps application and phone assistant to date either?

Never hurts to be at least a bit objective right?
Google has strategically placed products where they can mine data from every aspect of a person's life. They started with Search - we want to know what users are thinking about, then Gmail - we want to user's personal life, Maps - we want to know where users go, bought Android OS - we want to know users better than they know themselves.

Users have given authority to Google to feed you the right information through Search, News Feeds, and Assistant, for example information about what to eat, where to eat, when to do a particular activity etc. Next step is give them authority to find your future spouse. Critical thought process then has left the room, we are only following what is fed to us. And the final step is to tell to who to vote for, that then is the end of democracy. Yeah, give Google, Facebook etc. all companies answerable to only to the advertising industry, full authority of one's life, it's a slippery slope as recent past shows.

But yeah, they create fine phones.

Glad they got rid of that notch. Say all you want about the iPhone's notch, but Google's was absolutely horrendous, the black borders on the colored phones are kinda wack tho.

The new Pixel's look decent, but seeing the photos in comparison with the 11 Pro makes me think like Google is neck and neck or even a tad bit behind this year with Apple and Samsung in terms of cameras advancements.

Pixel Buds 2 are gonna be great for Pixel users, fine for everyone else. Not into home automation just yet so the Nest announcements are okay too. PixelBooks aren't perfect, and this new one isn't interesting considering the last Pixel device running ChromeOS was a disastrous flop.

The Pixel 4 front looks like a phone from 2013. I do like the buds though. Wonder how they would sound with an iphone..

When Apple started charging $1000 for iPhones, everyone complained. But Google charges almost the same and I don't see complaints.

Each to their own but thicker bezels look far worse to me

it is most amazing to me that there are people out there that choose to buy Google products...

There are oceans of people out there who just want to use a product and do not understand whats going in the background, but for those more informed.... we should be doing more awareness in society.

Google products are great, its just that their business model is unethical IMO. I am not willing to pay with my life info.
