Wow. Way more accessible like the desktop version.

Is this what Android folks been having?

No, Android folks have been having the FULL desktop version thanks to Flash. Majority of music is blocked on Mobile apps/Mobile site so I open the browser and choose the desktop version. It's great.

Must be wicked on a 4" screen

Apple's YouTube app plays audio in the background without a problem.

You can play YouTube videos through Safari in the background too.

Exactly. Some people can't see any farther than how they themselves use an app.

This will be an even bigger problem when/if Google gets around to releasing an iPad version (or making this a universal app). OTOH, maybe it suits them to inconvenience iPad users, as a backdoor way to promote the Nexus 7 tablet.

How are you making that work, since Adobe Flash Player 11 is no longer supported on Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean?

I took a shot at the icons

Yes it does to make sure I knew I was right when I replied the first time I added a video to favorites on the native app, then check favorites in the new app, it appeared right along side with all the other videos on that list. I don't know what is wrong with your playist but on my device they are the same

I'll repeat myself...

I'M TALKING ABOUT THE ORIGINAL APP'S ABILITY TO SAVE FAVORITES EVEN IF YOU AREN'T SIGNED UP FOR A YOUTUBE ACCOUNT!

With the original app, you do NOT have to log into a YouTube account. It will STILL remember your favorites. Those favorites are remembered within iOS, not by YouTube.

You are comparing Apples and Oranges.

This is what I got after installing iOS 6. Slightly better than a quick open/close, but nothing solved. I see nothing that asks for more permissions from either Facebook or YouTube. This is very frustrating.

No way to remove 'watch later' videos.

Also watching a subscribed video doesn't remove it from desktop version.

I stll don't get why this had to go as a natuve.

Apple's 5-year license to distribute their own version of the YouTube app expired. Google wants to be able to force the same pre-roll ads on YouTube videos that Android users are already seeing, and they can only do that if they write their own YouTube app for iOS.

Bastards

I knew there was somethng that was missing...

So this basically shows you then Apple diesn't want to be a part of it.

Anybody know if when in safari and you click on a YouTube link on a forum for example will it take you to the YouTube app or the YouTube via safari? Anybody with IOS 6 beta know?

Yes, it opens the YouTube app.

Also, with the upgrade to iOS 6, sharing to FB is no longer broken.

Oh! Thanks you so much for clearing this! I was holding out on upgrading my iPad simply for the fact that I was thinking if videos in Safari would open in the new YouTube app. Though I could've just checked tomorrow after getting my phone anyway xD
