You can use iCloud for Windows too. I think it launched sometime last year. I access files from my Mac/iPhone and Surface.

I use iCloud in my Windows Laptops but with Mobiles, it is not cross platform supported if I am correct.

My onedrive subscription comes with Office 365 Family edition for 5 accounts, nearly 5 TB storage for each account for less than $80-$90 a year. It also auto uploads my iPhone pictures into OneDrive just like Google Photos auto backup my pictures.

iCloud seems to be the odd man out in this for me.

Love iPhones but jealous of your Android friends having all their information sold by Google? There's an app for that 😂
What information is Google selling exactly? If I would be interested to buy private user information from them what could I get?

I'm ok with people being educated about how the services really work, rather than repeating a narrative that they may or may not really know anything about.

If by "make it that way", you mean they provide solid services for you to send them your data (like Photos and Gmail), I don't see how that's really any different than other companies doing the same. I forgot to mention in my last comment, but they also don't mine Gmail for ad revenue purposes any more, and that's by far their biggest service (edit: biggest non-search service :)).
You're right they do provide solid services for people to send their data like photos and Gmail and it's not different than some other companies doing the same. As long as you know the reason why it's free. Google isn't providing Gmail for free because they're a bunch of nice guys. They're mining the data from your emails to sell for marketing purposes. I have Gmail and I'm okay with that.

They don't sell data on specific people like you can't find out where your girlfriend was yesterday. They sell targeted advertising so if you sell child seats and you want to sell your product they can send ads to those people with children of the age where your product would work. If you really want to know all the data Google collects on you there are several articles on it. It's quite scary but luckily for us they're only using it to sell stuff. That's for the most part anyway.

Oh so they sell targeted advertising.
But you implied that Google sells all the information it collects from Android users.

I think most people on these forms know what information Google collect and how they sell it. I bet you even knew that before you asked the question 🤣

That is quite funny.
I thought it was but maybe a sense of humor is required 🤷‍♂️

Google really, really want all the data on us they can. They'll keep on taking everything they can until there is nothing left to hide from them.
Resistance is futile. Prepare to be assimilated by the Borg. You know you can't avoid it forever.

Being a certified GOM (Grumpy Old Man), I'm going to carry on avoiding having as little to do with google as possible.

It's not difficult to do really. I personally do not avail myself of ANYTHING Google. None of their products and none of their services. If I find, for example, any of their tentacles in my browser - cookies - they are swiftly removed.

Ditto Farcebook, Twitter, Instagram and all the other social knucklehead crap out there.

I confess. I love Google and Google products. I’m even a Google Certified Educator (levels I and II). I don’t care if they are sharing my data. So I get targeted ads, big deal.

So you think it's just targeted ads? Sorry to burst you bubble but it's a whole lot more than ads. Using their products and services, Google knows what you buy online, how often and from where. In addition to that, they know where you've been, how often and for how long you were there. It doesn't matter where in the world you may have gone, they know it. So, if you don't mind a company keeping tabs on where you've been - similar to following you around in a car - then more power to you.

Okay, it's Google. Break out the tinfoil hats and all.

Now back to the topic.

Like it, Love it, Hate it, Don't Care About it, it would be great to see this on iOS. The odds are that this will drive additional functionality that for those of us who use Google, can partake of.

For those that just believe that all Google is involved in is selling targeted advertising to advertisers, then I’m just going to leave this here -

Google says they don't sell your data
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2020/...r-data-heres-how-company-shares-monetizes-and

And nothing bad happens with the data Google doesn't sell either
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/12/19/opinion/location-tracking-cell-phone.html

If people really believe this is just about displaying a few ads they are seriously deluded.

Me as well, but just FYI:

While they may claim that they don’t “sell your data”, they’ve certainly been caught one too many times with their hands in the proverbial cookie jar.

LoL you just said they don't sell user information.

Yeah I'm sure you meant it as a joke.
Like Google is a favorite on this forum and users joke around here about them out of kindness.

I say this with all due respect, but have you all been living under a rock for the last couple years? Google One is an umbrella service that contains Gmail, Google Drive and Google Photos. Those are all heavy-hitters in Google's arsenal - no way any of them are being shuttered.

It might seem cool to feign ignorance, but I find it embarassing. Do yourselves a favor and at least know what you're talking about before taking pot-shots at it. ;)

You say that, but there have been so many apps that focus around that area. Inbox, soon Hangouts will get closed down, there are others - so you can't say that this hasn't been a recurring theme.
