Speed traps? But Tim Cool said it was against App Store rules to aide and abet lawbreaking.
Tim lied. Again.

I wonder if they’ll ever discontinue Waze.
Apple Maps will get this in 2 years or less I bet.
The only thing I’ve seen are accidents, when you press for more info in google maps it states that it was reported via Waze. Possibly the same goes for traffic to make it more real-time, but the source for traffic info isn’t stated.Does Google Map currently (on any platform) share and show the same data as Waze?
For example, if somebody reports traffic/police/etc on Waze, does it appear on Google Maps?
Agree. I’ve started using Apple maps in CarPlay instead of other 3rd party map programs just for this feature alone. Hoping Apple will open this up to other 3rd party apps in the future.

Waze has been around with that for a long time.Next week’s news.
Apple shuts down google Maps because it contains a speed trap feature that could be used to break laws and/or target police or city property.
Now they just need to add a speedometer like Waze and the feature sets will be equal.
Google Maps has a speedometer now. Used it tonight.
It shows the posted speed limit (like Apple maps), but not your actual speed (like Waze)
I think google has tested it in some of the Android builds.

Is anyone actually seeing these features in Google Maps because I can't get them to appear.
Is this only in some areas? The features do work on Waze so I wonder what's going on.

How is slowing down to the speed limit aiding and abetting? What nonsense.Speed traps? But Tim Cool said it was against App Store rules to aide and abet lawbreaking.
That is how I use Apple Maps. Except the police. Waze I find to be highly inaccurate in that sense and cops are not where they say half the time. Maybe police are getting smart and using Waze to outsmart users. This is why i cant use Apple Maps.
I know all the streets around me and i dont need an app to tell me that.
What i need is this crowdsource info (transit, police, radars, accidents) everytime i leave any location.
I use Waze for this.
Until Apple implemment something like this in Apple Maps, i wont use it.
