It is worth noting that Apple does not offer anywhere near as much trade-in value for Android devices such as the Pixel 6, providing a mere $240 maximum trade-in value for last year's Pixel 6 Pro.
Yes. The relative desirability of these products is absolutely worth noting.

Nice try but I'm pretty sure it's going to take more than that to get the sheep to stop drinking Kool-Aid.

Nobody cares for Pixel, I don't understand this front page post other than giving us the opportunity to post funny memes and jokes. Which are always fun to read.

I can't tell if the article is sort of a "poke" at Google, touting that $750 for a $1500 device is good? "High trade in value" then say $750 for a $1500 phone. Sounds like a jab at Google.

Why would I want to trade in a great product for an inferior one?

Yeah let me go ahead and trade in my Aston Martin for a Honda Civic while I am at it.
To be fair, I really like my Civic. I would still really hate a Google phone, though...

Question: Would any of you use a pixel for a year if you were paid $2000? Personally, I think I’d need somewhere between 10-15k.
You have more principle than I do. I’d use the pixel for 1 year for 5K. Day one of year two it goes in the trash.

Where is the incentive to trade-in, Google? 30$? First of all I wouldn’t trade-in my iPhone for a Pixel, so if you wanna incentivise people to switch from a superior product, then offer more - say, trade-in iPhone 13 Pro Max and we give you 400$ plus a free Pixel 7 Pro. Then we could talk!

It’s kind of funny watch Apple fanbois talk so much smack on android. Clearly you haven’t used it in so long and have been so brainwashed.

I just bought the Pixel because I’m now on my 3rd iPhone 14 PM and it’s nothing but issues.
On your 3rd iPhone 14PM? Why, what’s the matter specifically? Excuses? Me thinks you just don’t like iPhones.

I'll trade my partner's iPhone 12 Pro Plus for a Google Pixel 7. I uninstall the Google apps and utilise non Google apps while running an active VPN in the adenoids environment. Then my Google Pixel 6 can become my beach phone since the Nokia XR20 is bloated with glue to keep the rear casing on. I love my iPhone 14 Pro Max and won't trade for anything.

Yes I would. I regularly use an Android Samsung tablet which works fine. For £2000 I'll happily dayly a Pixel for a year. Not to say I wouldn't go straight back to iPhone afterwards though.

If the Aston comes with only 3 wheels and you can’t sit down in the car without it tipping to the side all the time no matter what tires you put on it, while the Honda comes with all four wheels…maybe it’s not that bad a deal.

I wonder what google does with a used iPhone to offer that kind of money?

Hey that’s not fair. To compare a Honda Civic to a Pixel. That Civic will still be usable in three years. :D

I don't think this is meant to be a special incentive/deal. Google is just promoting the fact that you can trade your old phone towards a new Pixel and get up to $750 depending on brand/model. It's really little different than Apple offering up to $720 trade towards a new iPhone.

Google wants to generate some revenue from selling used iPhones.

I don't know if Google actually plans to retail any trade-ins beyond maybe Pixel phones. They will probably wholesale most phones (at least non-Pixel models) off to independent resellers similar to what Apple does with non-Apple phones, Samsung does with non-Samsung phones, etc.
