It's not like there's no push notifications in the Apple Mail app. It just doesn't work with Google, which I think is down to Google not supporting it because they want to push you to their own app (no pun intended).
Not true. I use the Outlook app on my iOS device and get instant notifications for my Gmail accounts.

I'm old school. I distinctly remember waiting for the best part of an hour until the following installation was eventually free of annoying humans!

Maybe I'm too picky, but all of the photos where the woman was erased, the shadow is screwed up. The cart's shadow is trippy in all of the "fixed" photos. A truly ham-fisted approach to photo editing. I'll ignore how the shadow of the old woman in front of the dude looks like two people's shadow instead of one.

I'm not seeing the level that Google brags about in their Pixel phone ads.😒

Well, the technology is still young. I'm excited to see how this technology will develop.😊
Yes, I didn't do anything with the shadow. It seems that the one woman's shadow overlaps on the one taken out. So I suppose I could have selected some of the shadow to take out. I'm sure the Google app wouldn't have taken out the shadow if it wasn't selected. These tools are not perfect, and if you were working on a photo and you would spend a little more time tweaking things. I just wanted to give a look at how each program worked by simply making one selection of only the girl. Clearly Apple Photo's was did the worst job making the added stone pavers somewhat blurred. The example of the Google images is a more simple one, as there are no shadows, and the background is not to complex, but if you look carefully you can see where the people were, it didn't do a perfect job. Additional hand work would be required to do a professional job. This technology has been around for many years in Photoshop and other programs like the ones I demonstrated.

I shudder to think how many photos I've been removed from in the short time this has been available. It would be cool if you could set up removal notifications, so when you remove someone from a photo, they get notified. That would be a good zinger for the exes.

Since you can already pick up an image in Photos adding this feature should be easy enough for Apple. A key new feature in IOS 17?

Honestly, I don't get why magic eraser gets so much hype. I use the 7 Pro, previously had a Note20 Ultra. Samsung has had this feature way earlier than Google (and that in Samsung's stock Photos app) and it worked way better and faster than the magic eraser lol

So Google is providing functionality to iPhones that Apple doesn't! 😄

Hopefully, it gives it a kick up the arse so that iPhone 15 has it.

Sadly this is why I still have a lot of Google stuff.
- Drive is better for collaboration with others and is a full fledged website vs iCloud
- Gmail actually has instant notifications vs Mail only updates when the app is opened
- Photos has a ton of cool features before and now this.
- Google’s Office suite is better as well with all the compatibility/exporting support

If it wasn’t for Apple hardware in general I would have been gone as their first party apps are limited and never evolve it feels.
Hate google drive as it forces a bunch of extra hoops to access and download anything if you don’t use google and get sent something instead of just iMessaging it or downloading from iCloud if sent. Collaboration features have been awesome for two years now. You should check them out. Less clunky than Google’s.

Mail can show instant notifications on the locked screen, Notification Center, or banners if you so desire. It’s set in settings. You may have not turned these on when they became available several years ago.

Apple’s photo app has a crazy amount of features out of the box including the automatic removal of the entire background they showed off last year before this Google version.

I find Google Docs to be clumsy to use and unattractive to look at. I have used Apple’s suite for years a much prefer it to MS Office and especially GD. The way it all works together at the OS level allows me to work much faster. If have worked at different places and no matter where I was I would bring my own Apple laptop to be more productive.

You clearly are not using them. They make hundreds of changes they don’t have time to promote on stage and can export in all common formats. The only issue is some printers I find the need to adjust down to 97% to fit properly from the Mac. That’s from any software though.

Am I missing something,..I still don't see the option even with Google One. Can I assume it's slowly being rolled out worldwide?

shocking apple didn't built this into IOS 16. They did the background photo but why not this?
