Any Android phones have Satellite communication? Like the iPhone 13 or 14?

Thats the feature I want.

I live in the Desert , JOSHUA TREE CA.

I want this feature in case all hell breaks loose and the United States gets nuked.

It's why I bought a home in the desert.

or been thinking of living off a boat full time in Australia.

Some disaster is gonna happen in the USA. it's only a matter of time.

And I think Cell phones that can utilize satellite communication is an awesome move.
Someone has been playing Fallout.

Dunno if too safe in and around Australian waters as we have bogans that wear uggies (equilivant to your Walmart shoppers wearing an XS G string when they should be wearing more clothing).

What is the advantage of a higher power charger? Does it charge the phone quicker? My 12pro max lasts all day with a lot of usage, so I charge it while I’m asleep. so quicker makes that no difference to me. I also wonder what effect higher power chargers have on the environment?

Are there any physical limitations like heating etc. because of which Apple always seems to cap the charging speed? Or is there some particularly clever, patented tech in those OnePlus phones which iPhones are still catching up to?
These Chinese OEMs can claim such fast charging by splitting the battery into two. Basically instead of charging 1 large battery, they are charging 2 smaller batteries at the same time, thus "doubling" the charging speed. Pretty much all the Chinese are doing it this way in most of their newer phones (BBK group, Xiaomi, etc). It's not "magic," just clever workarounds.

It’s not a coincidence that there has been a decline in Android users wanting to convert to iOS. Pixel 6 and the new version of Android seem to be very promising.
Who says there has been a decline in Android users wanting to switch to iOS? Oh, that’s right, a single survey of unknown accuracy by some outfit we’ve never heard of. And you take it as the gospel truth. If that’s not confirmation bias I don’t know what is.

So you’re one of those who believes anything they read on the internet.

Until we can have truly 'wireless' charging (such as we have wifi) then I (and I think a majority of the public) will feel very much 'meh' about any wireless charging products. In most cases you're essentially just replacing one cable and plug with another cable and plug + 'pad'. Consequently in such a format it's never going to go truly mainstream.

The pixels have some spotty history with supporting new cell tech, even when they have the hardware.

Looking at C-Band:
  • The just-released Pixel5a doesn't support C-Band(N77 or N78). It has hardware for them.
  • The Pixel5 added N77 and N78 support with a software update that is carrier-specific.
  • The Pixel4a 5g added N78 support with a software update that is carrier-specific... but it seems the N77 paperwork was filed incorrectly.

Yes, but when the world ends who you're going to call?

If the US gets nuked, what good is a phone going to do you? If were being nuked then mutually assured destruction protocols have engaged and everyone else is being nuked.

I’ve always been under the impression that if time is available a slower charge is better for a battery.
Time to update that thought process then. Newer battery technology has made it so that there is minimal to no impact on fast charging. The "meat" of the battery, between 0-80% can be manipulated quicker than the top 20%. That limitation is also becoming nonexistent as manufacturers are finding ways to "hide" the top end of a battery. Fast discharge was the last hurdle they were working on and it looks like theyve made some serious strides in that areas as well

large bodies of water absorb radiation much better than sand. Also satellite cops will drain your battery really fast so rapids charging is a feature you’ll be interested in.

Yep, it does sound like Google are finally all in on premium devices and Android 12 is stunning.

If the camera is as good as rumoured and video recording is finally superb then it might be the Android phone people have been waiting for.

After the arrogance of Apple over the iCloud spyware crap, this will be the Android I'm most interested in.

Googles Huwaei made Android phones were a premium as well a few short years ago and sold at premium prices then. They were big and super ugly too.

this Pixel 6 will look like crap just after a few months to the owner and that wide camera bump will start to leave some scratches on the lower end.

the csam junk is there in the main stream and like before Android users have been fine giving up all their personal data to Google etc because apps and core OS is free. Always been that way.

Either Android users don’t know Googles method for processing their photos or users just don’t care. Probably never will cause so much of what the use on Android is free.

you get what you paid for. At least you’ll get better Android is support n timely releases on Google branded phone. Not as long as 4-6yrs but not 1 yr.

Higher probability of dying from boredom, extreme heat or cold in Joshua Tree before nuke. Satcom isn't coming to iPhone so better off getting Starlink which is real.

Using 2 smaller batteries is only part of it, there's more, you can read about Mi 10 Ultra's and Mi 11 Ultra's batteries to find out more.

Would like for them to release a study on the impacts to battery health/longevity with the various charging rates available
My phone gets plenty warm on my 15 watt wireless charger
