I keep hearing that Apple waits for technology to mature, that when they introduce a technology it's better that on Android phones. Apple introduced wireless charging with 5W speeds, the slowest on the market at that time and it took them years to improve to the measly 15W level. Wired charging is also not better in comparison and all this while not providing any advance vs charging on Android phones.

Just remove the wireless coils + MagSafe magnets and give me a thicker battery 😅

Time to update that thought process then. Newer battery technology has made it so that there is minimal to no impact on fast charging. The "meat" of the battery, between 0-80% can be manipulated quicker than the top 20%. That limitation is also becoming nonexistent as manufacturers are finding ways to "hide" the top end of a battery. Fast discharge was the last hurdle they were working on and it looks like theyve made some serious strides in that areas as well
I suggest this is more of an opinion than a fact. I would like a real investigation, real data into impacts, if any, to battery health & longevity with various charging rates

I still don't find "wireless" charging very exciting.

Heat is one aspect, but higher charging speed also reduces the overall battery life. That's fine if you only want to keep your phone for a year or two, but for a hand-me-down, quick-charge stuff is problematic.
Sure, but I wouldn't call iPhones hand-me-downs with it's 2 yrs batttery lifespan

What is the advantage of a higher power charger? Does it charge the phone quicker? My 12pro max lasts all day with a lot of usage, so I charge it while I’m asleep. so quicker makes that no difference to me. I also wonder what effect higher power chargers have on the environment?

Yes, of course the goal here is faster charging. What else is there? But my feelings about that are in line with yours. Even if it's some "power user" using their phone all day to shoot 4k video or something, they're going to use battery packs, not fast charging.

I use a MagSafe charger with the 20W adapter and honestly see nothing left to be desired in terms of charging speed, especially combined with the convenience of it. Seems like a good compromise to me between overly slow charging and unnecessarily fast charging.

I think you're "Hearing it wrong". Apple seemingly doesn't release tech unless it works the way they think it should work. (And that doesn't mean products, features or innovations won't occasionally be released with issues..such as "you're holding it wrong")
that when they introduce a technology it's better that on Android phones.
Better is clearly relative, but in general more polished.

So this big build-up trying to criticize Apple boils down to another vendor having faster wireless charging. Pretty slim pickings on this, imo.

To Apple's credit, they simply use USB-PD standard for their wired fast charging.

It's an advantage for those who keep their phones close to them whenever they are, even while sleeping. So instead of the traditional overnight charging, people would just top up their battery a bit here and there throughout the day. It's just a new paradigm of habit.

No I haven't heard it wrong.
It's not like you work at Apple and know what they think so I don't find your suggestions relevant at all.

Not in general but just occasional, this is a more accurate description.

Not just "another vendor" but most vendors if not every single one, also not just faster but considerably faster.

According to everything I have read low and slow charging is the best for the battery.

Your proffering some nonsensical memes in a thread about wireless charging. I’m countering that nonsense with what seems to be apples philosophy.

I don’t believe “occasional “ is accurate.

Imo, your conclusion is leading the premise. But we’ll wait to see about the iPhone 13 (or whatever name).

To me the real feature is MagSafe and where is apple going with it?

I usually only use the 5W charger. At work, I use USB-A from the hub for my Mac. It trickle charges in about 2W. 😂

I only presented facts nothing else, you on the other hand are trying to counter these facts with memes regarding "apple's philosophy". Quite amusing.

It's not like you would be able to show that this is the case.

The truth is the truth and the fact that you felt the need to mention iphone 13 shows you don't like the truth.

It’s not a coincidence that there has been a decline in Android users wanting to convert to iOS. Pixel 6 and the new version of Android seem to be very promising.
yep and also with RCS becoming standard you will start to see lots of Android users being annoyed at iPhone users for screwing with their messages :)

Any Android phones have Satellite communication? Like the iPhone 13 or 14?

Thats the feature I want.

I live in the Desert , JOSHUA TREE CA.

I want this feature in case all hell breaks loose and the United States gets nuked.

It's why I bought a home in the desert.

or been thinking of living off a boat full time in Australia.

Some disaster is gonna happen in the USA. it's only a matter of time.

And I think Cell phones that can utilize satellite communication is an awesome move.
They don't but if history is any indication, Android phones will get this feature first. Then Apple will follow.

Starting a post with "I hear" is the very definition of anecdotal experience, which is not factual.

The are many different versions of the truth. One truth is the Pixel 6 supports 23W charging beating the iphone 12. The other truth is, the specs for the iphone 13 have not been released yet. So it's not me that doesn't like the truth or even facts.

The other common sense item is that when doing spec compares, one compares whatever the latest model is from the manufacturers. But these manufacturers play leap frog as specs are phones are released and specs known.

Really? that's what you've got? Funny. It's more like an objective observation.
Anyway, what about your memes regarding"apple's philosophy"? Nothing?

iPhone 13 and Pixel 6 don't matter, I was talking about the facts up to this point.

What spec comparisons? You are funny.
