Put a cheeky bid in for an obsidian 256GB Pixel 9 Pro Fold on eBay UK last night; forgot about it and seen that I’ve won it earlier today. Seller has posted it, it’ll be with me tomorrow :)

It’s nigh on faultless bar a tiny hairline scratch on the edge of the screen; a Spigen screen protector will soon hide that

My S24U is going back to Amazon UK; bit miffed really as hadn’t realised it wasn’t a UK phone but a Middle East one and both Samsung Pay & Google Wallet don’t work as they should; found out the other day…

Mous Case is on its way to me for it too; just need to sort a MagSafe ring for it

One bit of advice from another P9PF user whose tried using magsafe rings, both directly on the device, behind a skin and inside a case—it needs to be positioned lower than you think if you care about wireless charging and not just the ability to mount and they don’t stick well. I don’t know if it’s the matte texture on the back but all of mine get pull off. I finally found both a clear case and a thin carbon fibre style case that had the ring included in the proper location.

This clear case I have shows the proper magsafe ring position. This is the case I’m using now…very thin and nice strong, properly positioned magsafe ring.

Thanks - I’ve had one before so know it’s peculiar location :)

Just a shame very few case makes make a decent case for the 9 Pro Fold, more so with MagSafe built in

16 QPR1 Beta 3.1

I saw the update for that in my System, did the download and install, after it was all done, it said failed at restart or something ( which I've never seen before ) I restarted my phone, and it shows it's still on the July 5 patch, and no other updates available.

Strange

So has the Pixel 9 Pro Fold always had the 90/10 split option and I'm just noticing it now? Or was it a new edition with the last update?

I'm on the beta if that makes a difference.

Can anyone recommend a good quality vegetable tanned leather case for the 9a as I am struggling to find one.
I have the Belroy one that I got from the Google store but not loving it as the leather does not feel as good as I thought it would.
I am in the UK if that helps.

Just bought a Pixel 9a this Black Friday for $350. I think it is a good deal.

After the iOS 26 disaster (and a 13 Mini sold to my brother after that), I went to my beloved Pixel 5. Beautiful phone but it is outdated and man, why not to go to a more recent version?

I hope that I can disable most of the AI things and the battery last me for at least 2-3 days since this Pixel 5 last me for 1-2 days (a phone bought second hand from Amazon 1.5 years ago).

I have all of the AI rubbish disabled on mine so it is doable and I get 2 days from a single charge but a bit less on busy days.

Nice. That's what I want to hear.

I think the phone arrives in the middle of December. I hope i can squish at least 2.5 days of battery

Just got in from work after a 12 hour shift and it's been a fairly light phone day with some calls, texts and Google maps and I am on 74% but some days are heavier but it never stops below 50% on a work day.

Got my pixel 9a a couple of days ago. Really good phone. The performance is good, cameras good, battery really good.

It is bigger and thicker than my Pixel 5 but it is just a better version in practically all the things.

Android 16 doesn't change that much from Android 14 (the last supported in 5) but those design changes are welcomed. At least you won't have to deal with liquid glass here.

Maybe a con is that you can't still change the icon pack in the pixel launcher and I'm not a fan of having the possibility to change the shape of the home screen icons but not in the app drawer. Also, some icons changed to be inside a white icon ( the original is like slapped inside a white icon) and this didn't happen with Android 14.

Probably I will put a launcher or just leave it as it is.

Let see how it works. I got it for $350 so, all good.

Just bought Pixel Buds Pro 2 and they sound a lot better than my AirPods Pro 2. Adaptive audio, spatial audio, head tracking, conversation awareness AND an adjustable EQ? Yes please!

Well its been just over a year now since switching to Android and a Fold for the first time. Still feels weird and a "did I really do that?" kind of feeling giving up on iPhone, but overall have no real regrets. Keeping as many services as possible device agnostic from the beginning really helped.

The P9F has been great and love the ability to have a mini tablet always at the ready. Wasn't sure if the crease would be annoying, and it's mostly not, but it is definitely there and would appreciate a mechanism that fills the gap behind the screen in the hinge area when open.

Only thing I really, really, really miss is FaceID. The fingerprint sensor on the P9F is very reliable and reads prints way better than my old iPhone 6S. The problem is they put the power button exactly where I want to put my index finger to hold the phone so its constantly unlocking when I'm just trying to carry or move it, or creating login attempt fails from a different finger forcing a pin to unlock the next time I want to get in. Lost count the number of times my phone is playing Youtube videos or some other random crap simply from holding the phone. The location of the power button really needs to be shifted up closer to the top, and more ideally they need to create something similar to FaceID instead of the useless camera system in the current devices.
