Liking the new control and notification tray and the new battery and signal icons but not noticing much other change than that. Anything else interesting that anyone has noticed?

I believe this first one was for more visual updates in menus and across the whole UI

Been running it since Saturday on the 9PXL. Surprisingly smooth for a beta. Actually seems more responsive than 15 was. Smooth scrolling and I haven't encountered any bugs at all. Haven't updated my 9Pro Fold yet as I usually don't do betas on my work devices but I'm tempted to see how it looks on the Fold

It runs top notch with no issues, most definitely surprisingly for the first one and injected more smoothness unless it's a placebo effect lol

One of the reasons the 9PXL went to my drawer in favor of the S25U was how the Tensor seemed to get bogged down a bit. Was getting lots of stutters and running warm at times. Appears they have done some work under the hood to make things run smoother. Maybe not quite OP13/S25U smooth and fast but damn close.

Alright. Joining the beta bandwagon this weekend. Might still go back to Niagra, but interested to see what they have done firsthand.

Installed the beta on my fold. I have to say, so far I really like the new look and feel.

It'll be even better when they take it further into the OS but for now I'll take this.View attachment 2512573
What do you mean with "further into the OS"? Is the new design not integrated everywhere?

I really like the new look. I'm actually wanting to buy the next Pixel 10 if rumors are true and it comes with 3 cameras and a better 3nm TSMC processor.

That, coupled with the new UI and 7 years of timely updates might be very enticing. Also hoping they improve battery life.

My understanding is that this is just the start of an overall redesign and that in the future, various other OS elements such as buttons within apps and animations etc. will also have a new look and feel.

Hopefully, Google will lead the way by updating the core apps such as Gmail, phone, messages etc. then third parties will follow.

Well, I tried. Got the beta on my phone, but still don't care for the Pixel launcher. Just not my cup of coffee. At least I get the benefits of the quick settings and clock improvements. And I activated my eSIM to give it a full go (at least until the iOS 19 beta starts in a couple weeks).

What don't you like about the Pixel launcher?

I agree the Pixel launcher is one of my least favorite launchers just doesn't have enough customization at all. They should take some direction from the OnePlus 13 and their OS

Niagra just nailed the aesthetics I like. Minimalist, great for one-handed use, contextual widgets, easy swipe app icons for notifications, icon consistency. And by using a third-party launcher, I have a consistent experience when I change phone brands (which I do frequently). Haven't tried Niagra on a foldable yet, but would probably stick to Pixel launcher if I get a 10 Pro Fold or whatever it will be called.

Serious question: thinking of getting a Pixel 9 Pro and giving the Pro XL to my wife. Does anyone know if I can stack a second year of the free Gemini Pro on my existing account or will it see I have already redeemed that offer?
