Way ahead of you.

I wish the subject was more like, "Because Epic also violates the rules at Google Play, Fortnite gets pulled from the Play Store".

This was NOT Google being malicious, this is Epic screwing around.

To be clear, I'm an Epic user and have their store/launcher installed on my Macintosh. I have nothing against Epic, they're trying to be the cheapest store out there and it benefits me.

I wish the subject was Google remote wipes the game from active devices because Epic compromised device integrity when they violated policy.

To be clear, I have something against Epic who built their empire off of stealing from PUBG.

As far as Apple is concerned, hijacking an iPhone is illegal, so that's hardly a good argument in Apple's favor. Apple would never sue over that as they know they would lose, opening the door even wider.
I think they're talking about side loading via dev access, not jailbraking.
But no, Apple and their evil App Store policies are sole evil!
I'm glad Google is abiding by their policies along with Apple. Without structure there's chaos. App stores have to reflect on these restrictions for sure, but trying to skirt guidelines cause you think it's unfair is poor behavior. Start a coalition, work with other developers. Try to suggest a median where both sides can be happy. Don't compulsively break rules and complain about how it's unfair.
yes it’s the same. but it wasn’t a problem until Apple started making money too
Astute point.

I don't have numbers or proof, and I'm just talking out of my behind, but still I'm gonna burp out my very ignorant opinion: I think that Fortnite on iOS or Android is not even a bleep on the radar as much as it is on the PC and PS4 gaming market, and since they are not getting their mobile development costs back anymore, they are trying to resurrect that Fortnite business team with a stunt. And if they fail, they'll kill it without looking like losers and at the same time standing by Tencent's PR interests. I love fairy tales, yes.

Apple needs to change it’s greedy AppStore policies. They’ve collected more than they will ever be able to spend.
I’m pretty sure that’s not the sole point of a business model. One doesn’t stop once they’ve got enough to “Spend”.

Don't mistake 30% as benevolence either. It is even more pure greed.
The 30% is less of a cut than all of the costs associated with having your game on a physical store shelf so the iOS developers should be happy. For the big 3 consoles, the developers are about 5-10% better off and the platform holder is 10-15% better off. The difference is that "better off" money comes from zero going to gamestop (or your physical store of choice) and no manufacturing and shipping costs.

I'm watching my daughter play Fortnite on her PS4, and Epic is touting all over the content store that they are fighting against the evil Apple abuse on the App Store. They are really trying to rally kids against Apple. A demographic that has neither acquisition nor decision power in a household. By the way, I asked for her opinion and she couldn't care less. Go Epic!

Seems a little silly to be bitter about such things. That's how the world works... you haven't noticed? PUBG was hardly the first to implement a Battle battle Royale/'Last Man Standing' format.. and the first quality game that goes free-to-play will always become the most popular. The same happened in the MOBA scene.. and countless other game formats.

What's next? Apple banning all purchases via Safari unless it's thru Apple Pay.

Rather a silly statement.

Epic signed a legal contract with Apple that they’ve now broken.

Want to tell me what legal contracts are being broken in your rather childish scenario?

You mean Google and Chrome right? Isn't the article about Google's policies?

Don’t underestimate the hate on Apple...

Yet Epic charging $20 for some dumb electronic dance move is being saintly? Don’t make me laugh...

They're both ridiculous.

Epic for charging $20 for a dance move...

...and Apple for demanding $6 of it

:p
