It's slowly going back to the old design. Waiting for Safari to release their new version ;-)

I run Chrome on MacOS and Safari on iOS. Chrome on Mac is better than I expected since I don’t have to install app store programs in order to use extensions like ad-blockers, I just use the actual extension in Chrome nothing else required. Chrome is also updated more frequently and things like watching Twitch still have huge memory issues in Safari eating GB’s until you get a memory warning (both my M1 machines do it). Chrome just seems to navigate the internet better overall IMO and the memory issues are overrated these days especially since I have more memory issues in Safari with what I do.

On iOS its all about Safari since all other browsers are just overlays essentially and I love the pinch to close windows/tabs.

Hard pass, Google.

Privacy, Faster, Privacy, less battery consumption, Privacy, private relay, Privacy, better security, Privacy, Keychain integration, Privacy, less RAM utilization, Privacy, secure payments with FaceID, Privacy, Reader Mode, Privacy, performance.
As if repeating it actually made it true ?

Well it’s actually WebKit with a Chrome skin applied to it.

Maybe because of the Chrome ecosystem? E.g. tab sync. Password sync etc.
True about WebKit, however it has numerous Javascript engine APIs disabled which will slow it down. Only Safari can run at full performance due to WebKit / SFSafariViewController sandboxing in third-party apps.

Why in the world would anyone in their right mind run Google Chrome on iOS?
iOS Safari can’t sync tabs and bookmarks with my windows gaming PC, and won’t sync with my Steam Deck when I get that.

Many (almost certainly most) iOS users are not Apple device exclusive.

Ah yes, I actually posted on stackoverflow a long time ago asking why WebKit was so slow compared to safari.

I do wonder if people have measurable difference nowadays, last time I used Edge on iOS, it was plenty fast.

Google.

Google today released Chrome 100, the latest version of its browser that's available on Macs, PCs, iPhones and iPads, Android devices, and more. Chrome 100 is notable because it features the first major icon update for Chrome since 2014.

The updated design was first previewed in February, and it features a simplified icon with brighter colors and no shadows. Chrome designer Elvin Hu said that the refreshed design was meant to align with "Google's more modern brand expression." Chrome has new icons on the desktop and on iOS devices.

Google adds new features to Chrome on a monthly basis, so additions to the browser come in smaller doses rather than huge releases, plus many updated features are provided server side. For that reason, there are few other notable features worth mentioning.

Google has, however, addressed several security issues in Chrome 100, and the update includes 28 security fixes.

Chrome for iOS can be downloaded from the App Store for free, while Chrome for Mac can be downloaded from Google's website. The Chrome 100 updates are available now.

Lol. So we are back from flat to 3D design again?

I guess I use my gaming PC for gaming. I have never used a browser on it.
