Disagree. Some of these “innovations” are incremental improvements in underlying technology that come about because other companies have been innovating.

Apple will release a near perfect foldable phone. What year again did they start r&d on it?

Copying innovative features doesn’t have a time limit. The entirety of the smartphones industry made a pivot due to the iPhone 1, flawed as it was, innovative as it was.

This seems like sour grapes. However Apple customers were the ones to tell the real story. And the definition of “light years ahead” is a personal, subjective sliding scale.
It’s not sour grapes buddy your the one who said that android just throw things at the wall and hope it sticks and then apple put a shine and polish to it that makes them more innovative so that is exactly what that quote describes someone who dismisses android things as irrelevant and then apple implement them it’s called innovation
That describes you’re point of view

Well we could break down
First galaxy note 2011 bigger device
First foldable 2019
More examples include fast charging which was featured in Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (2014), wireless charging in Galaxy S3 (2012), multi-camera systems in HTC One M7, LG G3, Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei Mate 9, AR camera in Sony Xperia Z2 (2014), water resistance in Xperia V (2012), Galaxy S4 active (2013), Galaxy S5(2014), Galaxy S7 (2016), 1080p front-camera video recording in Galaxy S4 (2013) and 2160p video recording in Galaxy Note 3 (2013), all of which were features Android-based mobile phones had years ahead of iPhones
All in the last 10 plus years and you keep going back about 20 years ago

The way I read the above it takes multiple vendors of android to equal what Apple has done over the years. Some of these above is due to other innovators hard work. Some are incremental improvements and not innovations. And some are piggy backed on other people’s inventions. You can’t get to claim first unless you directly invented the technology. Nikola Tesla invented wireless charging not Samsung. Water resistance has been invented in 1926. Android stole many of these. The entire smartphone industry as it stands today is a result of the iPhone 1.

Sour grapes, buddy? Not from me.

What this is are examples of the last 10 plus years compared with the apple side
And how individuals claim that when android do it first on their platform or have better hardware before apple like bigger screens
The comment is these features are irrelevant or we don’t need them and then apple implement them years and years later it’s seen as innovation.
Now that is exactly what you have done slated things like foldable devices and software features being on android first
Hey are you an?

Previously listed some very important milestones in the history of cell phones.
And how individuals claim that when android do it first on their platform or have better hardware before apple like bigger screens
Bigger screens is an iteration. Don’t aggrandize the screen size.
The comment is these features are irrelevant or we don’t need them and then apple implement them years and years later it’s seen as innovation.
So the android comments are irrelevant then also. The entire cell phone industry is as it is today due to apples iPhone 1. Apple showed everybody how to do it right.
Now that is exactly what you have done slated things like foldable devices and software features being on android first

Foldable phones are an iteration. Making a foldable phone so it doesn’t fall apart is an innovation. Adding a bigger battery so it doesn’t catch on fire, note 7, is an iteration.

Then why didn’t apple stick with the mighty
3.5 inches then
When there competitor brought out a big walloper at the same time?
Then many years later apple then brought out a big screen device

Why has there been foldable smartphones on the market since 2019 yet apple still hasn’t released there’s yet but it’s coming very soon maybe 2026?

New features on android first but hey apple now has them many years later
But what’s that I hear that’s because it’s not done right on android and only apple can innovate these features correctly
It’s very funny how the last 10 years plus things done on the android side have been implemented in some shape or form into apple things many years later
Like features and devices size and other things yet your very dismissive until apple implements it are you?

Then why didn’t apple stick with the mighty

For the same reason fashion changes. Wide toe, narrow tie etc. remember Apple doesn’t always do it first but it does it better. So do you want it first (android) or good (apple)
When there competitor brought out a big walloper at the same time?
Then many years later apple then brought out a big screen device
Because apple tends to do it the Apple way. They do it in a way their customers want. And boy did it sell.

The first foldables were crap. Apple will release as good as a phone as possible. The right way.
New features on android first but hey apple now has them many years later
Android copies a lot of features as I documented earlier. Apple releases them to perfection.
But what’s that I hear that’s because it’s not done right on android and only apple can innovate these features correctly
According to you android is first in everything. That’s not true either. There’s a lot of copying and sharing going on.

Hey you are sounding like that quote
That dismisses everything on android as irrelevant and then apple then implements it and then it’s seen as innovative
I’m starting to think that quote is right and people like that exist

I’m pointing out apples’ strengths and their firsts. Similar to your non-exhaustive list of android “firsts”.

When you compare and contrast the last 10 years plus apple have been behind the android side in certain situations from either hardware or software features that have been on there side well before apple and this has all happened under Tim cook’s leadership where he has waited to see what is successful from the competition and then implement it years later for apple from big screens to foldable’s and software features all in the last 10 years plus.

The only thing you point to is something from 2007 and just keep clinging to that from about 20 years ago and a 64 bit chip from about
12 years ago there is no escaping that by your tone that you dismiss things done on android before by calling them things like irrelevant and then when apple then implements it years later you use language like a shine and polish that no other company can achieve because that’s innovation so I never knew that there is people out there that think like that

Good artists copy, great artists steal 😁
It's funny how this quote is always used in a one way only, when others are doing it people scream as loud as they can.
Heck even Apple did with "start your photocopiers", but they are very quiet when they are the one photocopying.

If you cannot innovate you just imitate...this was a Tag line they used...well times have changed I guess.

I should quote SJ. "It shows that money isn't everything", Apple has so much money nowadays, but seems impossible to to do with them what they did with WAY lower budget, the days of Apple been treated like a startup are gone since Tim took the help.

Shure they make money, no they are not doomed, but they are as far as possible from the Think Different mentality, they are not the rebel, the misfits, the troublemakers they once where.

It's a pity for the people that lived brought those era (I started using Mac with the first OS X), but I guess it is called progress.

As well as apple being light years ahead of android in many situations.
from either hardware or software features that have been on there side well before apple and this has all happened under Tim cook’s leadership
Under Tim Cook’s leadership Apple has zoomed past android quite handily. Android has been behind apoles eight ball.
where he has waited to see what is successful from the competition and then implement it years later for apple from big screens to foldable’s and software features all in the last 10 years plus.
While Apple has waited to perfect a sloppily implemented android feature or function they know their customers would really want.

Keep clinging to to the last 10 years while ignoring important things Apple did that shaped the landscape of today’s smartphones.

You go back 10 years and yet ignore things that happened that time or slightly before that apple did which shaped the landscape of today. 🤷‍♂️ it’s true Apple does hold out on feature implementation until it’s perfect for them and doesn’t throw it against the wall to see what sticks.

A common behavior of apple fans is labeling new features and capabilities of products of competitors as superfluous or irrelevant and flooding online forums with their criticism, while labelling similar features on Apple devices as innovative,[7] which is a form of double standard
features Android-based mobile phones had years ahead of iPhones, which were labelled as unneeded and/or superfluous by critics on forums and social media by the same people that would consider it as innovative when Apple introduced the feature on their mobile phones years later.
Again when you compare and contrast both android side and the apple side then there has been more innovation on the android side of things since time cook has been CEO

Very audacious to discuss a common behavior of apple fans when the above is a fairly common post for android fans. dual standards.

All companies copy and google is egregious at it.

I use an iPhone currently so your incorrect in that assessment however I understand when other companies make better products and implement software features first from the competition.
And under Tim cook’s leadership this has been a pattern of waiting to see what the other side is doing then implement it
From bigger screens to foldable devices
To software features under cook there is a wait and see approach

Define better, which has been the issue all along. Another issue is mistaking incremental improvements for innovation.
And under Tim cook’s leadership this has been a pattern of waiting to see what the other side is doing then implement it
And making billions in the process.
From bigger screens to foldable devices
To software features under cook there is a wait and see approach
Because foldable have their issues . Implement a foldable that falls apart is not innovation.

Again I think your like that quote
Dismissive of what android does well as irrelevant and when apple implement it or make a bigger device or release a foldable device then it’s innovation because apple have done it so maybe that quote is correct that there is people out there like that
I just never knew it was possible

When all that is being discussed are gross generalizations, all we have to deal with are opinions. But I think it’s mostly memes at this point in time.

But that is what you have done dismissed things on android as gross and not done right
And then apple implements them years later with a shine and polish to them
Just like the foldable device you said but android haven’t done it right
So you are doing exactly what that quote says and that means your not being balanced in your argument.

But that is what you have done dismissed things on android as gross and not done right
There’s a basis for that statement

There’s some basis for that statement also.

There’s are some war stories about the foldables.
So you are doing exactly what that quote says and that means your not being balanced in your argument.
There is some basis for my comments, which are justified. Like I said comments on gross generalizations.

I don’t mean to be like this however
You have dismissed everything that android has done first as irrelevant and not important and then apple’s does it years later your calling that innovation
That is exactly what this quote describes
which were features Android-based mobile phones had years ahead of iPhones, which were labelled as unneeded and/or superfluous by critics on forums and social media by the same people that would consider it as innovative when Apple introduced the feature on their mobile phones years later
That quote is from years ago I didn’t think people existed like this in all my years owning smartphones

Everything Apple has done has been dismissed by you. And it’s ironic in a thread about copying you don’t acknowledge the debacle in 2008ish. In all my years of owning iPhones I’ve never had these types of conversations on MR where apples contributions has been swept under the rug.

No not everything what I said was in the last 10 years plus there has been more advancements on the android side that Apple has then implemented many years later.

Again I own a current iPhone
However I don’t dismiss what the android side does like bigger screen devices and foldable screens and software features first before apple then does them and use dismissive terms like these things aren’t done right.

Again we can all go back in time to 2007 but things move on as I say just like the old guy saying back in my day
