Maybe you read the last section of the comment about features
all of which were features Android-based mobile phones had years ahead of iPhones, which were labelled as unneeded and/or superfluous by critics on forums and social media by the same people that would consider it as innovative when Apple introduced the feature on their mobile phones years later.
This sounds like your point of view

I think your clutching there because Samsung have always had better screens on their devices for a start so your in correct there for a start
Just to be clear the above list is the foundation of most phones today and it’s all Apple. Whatever wiki articles you cite is irrelevant in terms of the groundbreaking work from Apple that played the modern foundation from both a look and feel perspective and hardware perspective for the modern form factor.

Heck, it took Qualcomm almost 13 years to nearly match the performance of the A-Series chips which power iPhones. Wry few vendors if any design their own chips. Another thing android copies.

What do you mean as you have said when google and device makers try stuff they hope it sticks and when apple then implement said features or products they add a polish and shine to it
Is that not what your saying your very dismissive of these features on android but when apple implement them years later you are calling it innovation just like it says?
Again being a revisionist because Samsung have always had better screens for a start and bigger devices

Apple laid the foundation for the modern smartphone any other interpretation is revisionist.

Times have changed from about 20 years ago now other device manufacturers have introduced better devices in some aspects and android have implemented better features in certain aspects because in the last 10 plus years there have been more advancements on that side compared with apple and iOS when you compare and contrast

In a thread where the irony of google saying Apple is copying, your statement above does not render what Apple did to the industry null and void. Apple laid the foundation for the modern smartphone and any other interpretation is willful distortion of the facts.

Things have changed since 2007 for example the iPhone was a 3.5 inch screen device and the OS looked different.
However if we compare and contrast the last 10 years plus apple has been playing catch up in various different situations regarding iOS and devices certainly under Tim cook’s leadership and there is no getting away from that

Certain things haven't changed though. One is the foundation that Apple has laid that all manufacturers copy and adopt. The second is the value of their ecosystem, which has grown tremendously and has been extraordinarily innovative under Tim Cooks leadership and there is no getting away from that.

What ecosystem are you talking about
that’s got nothing to do with companies making advancements in terms of hardware
Or individual software features that android has had first.
Things have changed we now have bigger devices because of android
We now have foldable devices because of android
We have certain advancements in software because of android in today’s current smartphone market not about 20 years age

I don’t quite understand does the concept of the Apple ecosystem, which consists of hardware and software need explaining? All of the billions of android phones owe their beginnings to Apple. Any other interpretation is revisionist. Android wouldn’t exist but for the iPhone.

Not in terms of this discussion because the
Apple ecosystem is irrelevant in regards to software features being on android first or android devices being better in certain aspects in regards to hardware in the last 10 plus years

Software and hardware are both relevant in this discussion. It’s really ironic that google is making some claims considering that a lot of android capability, thumb print reading and OLED were copied by android and google copied iOS.

And it’s Also ironic because all three claims of being copied existed before android. So google claims Apple copied. Pot calling kettle black.

Apple never had oled screens before Samsung so that is incorrect as apple’s panels where about 750 lcd not oled so again behind the times
No it’s not relevant about the ecosystem because we are talking about phones
And how android have had these features before iOS

Samsung copied Kodaks technology. Oled was developed in 1989 by Kodak. Thanks for pointing that out. Apples lcd screens were better than oled at the time. The ecosystem is relevant because it’s the BIGGEST selling point of apple products and the reason their revenue is billions per quarter. They are popular. It’s also ironic given the smartphone industry has been drive by Apple innovations, imo.

Yeah again being like that type of person that says because it’s on android first then it’s irrelevant and because Samsung have bigger devices we don’t need that size or a foldable device
Yet apple do it years later it’s look at the innovation by apple my god they have done it again
Under Tim Cook’s leadership apple as a company has become a follower waiting to see what other companies do first

“Type of person”. Downplaying apples’ role in smartphone development is just bias at its worst.

Under Tim cooks’ leadership Apple has
kept up a good pace at innovation, more products, more revenue more popular than ever.

Apple’s role in smartphone development about 20 years ago is not relevant compared with how things have changed regarding devices and software for last 10 years or so when you compare and contrast things side by side.

Yes, in your opinion only. Apple imo continues to be the most influential of smartphone makers when you look at it from an unbiased perspective.

again you are getting confused as I said earlier when android do anything first people like yourself say they throw anything at the wall and hopes it sticks yet when apple then take the same features and device hardware wise it’s called innovation
When you compare certain devices against iPhones from the same era then in certain circumstances the non iPhone is better hardware wise and the same in regards to software features from the last 10 years plus
Under Tim cook’s leadership at apple

There is no confusion at all at my end. Apple continues to innovate and be an influential force in the smartphone space with its customers generating billions a quarter for Apple. Apple continues to innovate and provide firsts.

So where is apple’s foldable device if they provide firsts is it out to buy?

If apple provides firsts then why have apple implemented 3 features from android in the new iOS 26 OS if they keep innovating and providing firsts?

Google copied the entirety of iOS and this article is about 3 things that google even copied and weren’t first in the world.

No but you said apple where innovative and always first so where is apple’s foldable device to purchase right now
And why where these 3 features on android first before iOS if apple are always providing firsts
Unless the issue is that these don’t count until Apple implement them?

It’s ok to admit when some companies make better features or products before apple

But you said android was more innovative. Where was 64 bit? Where was Face ID for secure transactions? It’s okay to admit Apple make better features before android.

What people fail to understand is when Apple releases a feature it has spit and polish. Android can be rough around the edges. And it’s okay to admit the android also copies features that others have thought up.

Yes for the last 10 years plus android and certain devices have been more innovative that apple’s offerings in certain situations when you compare and contrast both offerings
Hence why apple wait to see what happens like a foldable device and implementing software features from android.

It says it all that you have to keep going back to 2007 almost 20 years ago and point to a chip from 2013 so about 12 years ago so that more or less ties in what I’m saying about 10 plus years

all of which were features Android-based mobile phones had years ahead of iPhones, which were labelled as unneeded and/or superfluous by critics on forums and social media by the same people that would consider it as innovative when Apple introduced the feature on their mobile phones years later

Disagree. Some of these “innovations” are incremental improvements in underlying technology that come about because other companies have been innovating.

Apple will release a near perfect foldable phone. What year again did they start r&d on it?

Copying innovative features doesn’t have a time limit. The entirety of the smartphones industry made a pivot due to the iPhone 1, flawed as it was, innovative as it was.

This seems like sour grapes. However Apple customers were the ones to tell the real story. And the definition of “light years ahead” is a personal, subjective sliding scale.
