I'm also a guitarist and the fact that Jimmy Page played a 1959 Les Paul and Hendrix just used a stock 1968 Stratocaster makes me believe guitar players were not held back by the tools of their trade.

Of course they weren't. Those were the best tools available to them at the time and are still highly coveted by guitar connoisseurs. Then again, if plugged into the same amplifier or a modern preamp (Kemper or AxeFx, for instance), a guitar from the 50s will still work the same way a modern instrument would. A phone running Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwich will not be able to run modern apps, much like a computer from the 50s wouldn't work with modern software. A guitar is an analog instrument, whereas a smartphone is mostly silicone and code.

Android had NFC payments before Apple. Two years before. Google was fighting with Verizon about secure element before Apple even had NFC of any kind.

The iPhone 6 is the first phone with NFC.
Android phones had NFC and payment before Apple.

Then why did everyone spring into action following Apple Pay - why bother launching Android Pay and Samsung Pay?

Google did nothing after Apple added third party keyboards to iOS because that truly was an area that Android was first. They didn’t need to do anything.

Google was doing AR before Apple too. But after Apple’s AR Kit they changed their approach to mimmick Apple’s.

Just on a side note because we're talking guitars I play a '62 reissue Jaguar on the electric side and on acoustic a late 90's Martin J1. I use a Peavey 30-watt tube amp

Google will never get my health information....ever.

The sensitivity of our Health is becoming more and more aware to many of us. Yet it's not more sensitive than our interests, loved ones (in contacts, photos, emails and messaging/chats), shopping/dinning/ordering experiences or our memberships for bursaries/bonuses (AirMiles, and similar rewardships for loyalty). Many of these aspects of what makes us truly unique and human have already been shared sold collated and now being used to throw us ads and soon maybe one day affect our HMO memberships and payouts in terms of health related deaths for our loved ones on our will or life insurance payouts!

I'm not kidding on that last part because I'm sure many of you would JUMP if your car insurance company offered you a 10-40%year reduction immediately if you plugged in an ODB-II sensor into your car! Guess what next year all your driving habits are logged (turning/switching lanes without turning signal, hard braking to a rapid and sudden stop at lights/4-way stop-signs/crosswalks, rapid accelaration for hwy/freeway on/off ramps, night driving without lights or only daytime running lights). These are VERY common mistakes, I gaurantee if you police yourselves honestly you'll notice the first 3 stop signs you come across leaving your home you do NOT even come to a complete stop just a rolling slow down of 5-8km/h and then turn and accelerate out ;)

My point being is to consider your habits: Health!

Are you very healthy and travel the world a lot where a particular party would want to induce you into deep rem chemical induced sleep to take an organ out for sale/use a la tourista ?!

Do you have a health concern - bad habit related or heriditary where some of the worlds BEST doctors to treat you or even diagnose you are NOT in the USA?! Where your employers HMO does NOT cover certain medication and treatment?

If your health data was made available a search or even during travel for desperate needs could help a doctor save your life, family members life or even a close friends life. Many of us Apple Watch health users PRAISE Apple sharing use cases shared to them or participating in sharing health information for a study and doing so willingly for deeper research in hopes of helping many others ... yet we're so closed minded in the distainful thought and behaviour to a company that we'll not share our health data EVEN if that company truly means to help benefit everyone?!

Seriously consider that without all the politics, fanboy diatribe and rebuttals and simplist internet hate/favouritism.

I don't like the idea of computers impersonating human traits. I love the idea of computers helping the safety, health and ability of humans to continue BEING better humans even those of us that of lost abilities or just missed out on them since birth.

Health is Health data ... it should be and always has been by the very nature of science to help EVERYONE - even if financial cost is at concern and many times evil methods where used to obtain that knowledge to be gained and used and shared in centuries past. It's here now ... and we have a lot to learn ... I'd like to think we're no longer small minded that our alliance for any particular company should slow down health of another fellow human being if it does NOT take away from our own health unwillingly.

Good night.

I'm going to be the snarky comment here, but, FaceID demo?

Haha very true. I guess I'll say "demos are supposed to e tailored to be fool proof" the original iPhone demo was set up in a way that Jobs had to follow a specific order of actions in order for things not to crash and burn iirc. That said, it even the best laid plans can fail from time to time.
