I use Google Meets all the time on Safari. What can't you live stream or do for video calling?Problem with safari you can’t do everything chrome can, why safari can’t live stream or do video calling is beyond me so we have to have chrome, also safari keeps killing Disney plus website
Electron has entered the chat.but Chromium developers are making some loud claims about how much smarter the latest version is at using and freeing up memory on macOS.
Because it has more features. For instance, you can't log into Safari with multiple Google Accounts.I really can´t understand why a mac user install this piece of ****.
I thought I'll never utter these words, but I rather have Edge for this.Cross compatibility for when you have to use Windows.
I'd never use the same browser for private and company stuff, preferably not even the same computer.Because it has more features. For instance, you can't log into Safari with multiple Google Accounts.
Example: With Chrome, if your Company uses Google Workspace, you can sign in with multiple accounts, separating your bookmarks, history, multi-task & manage different workspaces, different Google Drives, different Gmail accounts all using 1 browser....
Chrome runs circles around Safari in that regard.
Well let me tell you this. I can use Safari sans flash anc my fans rarely come on. Two minutes of chrome and they are roaring. Chrome is not worth it for me.Wow, Macrumors.
Still perpetuating the completely debunked "safari uses 10% of RAM" finding from a single test by a guy who didn't understand how to correctly check for memory use?
Even misquoting by saying it was "tests" not a single false report that was completely disproven and should have been removed from this website? And then daring to call the findings "contested". They are not contested, they are false
Disgusting and embarrassing.
You are perpetuating misinformation.
Except that both Chrome and Edge now use a lot less RAM than Safari due to safari caching, and the lack of sleeping tabs which chrome/edge have. And it still uses wayyyy more power/battery/RAM than Safari. Safari is just in a league of its own in terms of energy/power savings.
So Chrome was running if the computer wasn't on...? Eh?Shortly after Chrome first came out, my new (at the time) Mac Pro started waking itself up. Searching logs and Activity Monitor to see if there was a problem with my new Mac, I discovered Chrome running background processes and helpers w/o permission, even if the app wasn't open or the computer on!Deleted Chrome and the issue went away.
Needless to say I have not touched Chrome since!
I'm not saying Chrome is good or bad, I use Safari, Chrome and Edge and they all have advantages and disadvantages. I'm just against spreading known false information, we have enough of that in normal media and politics.Well let me tell you this. I can use Safari sans flash anc my fans rarely come on. Two minutes of chrome and they are roaring. Chrome is not worth it for me.
Nowhere in my post did I mention private vs company. It's all different "Work" spaces.I'd never use the same browser for private and company stuff, preferably not even the same computer.
Actually, I believe the message you quoted said "starting waking itself up." That could mean the computer was powered on, but asleep. So in that case the computer would still be on, right? So Chrome was running if the computer wasn't on...? Eh?
I discovered a Google helper application/process running which was installed along with Chrome (part of Chrome?). It was indeed responsible for waking my Mac from sleep. So Chrome was running if the computer wasn't on...? Eh?
