No one is going to pay $35 for that. I pay $30 for Vue and get much more than that plus my login works on 99% of the TV apps.

Don't care.
I just dumped Sling because of inconsistent performance and an awful user interface.
Plus, US internet is still too slow for optimum performance.
TV is still a wasteland.
Until channels are a la carte it will less than ideal.
Maybe don't pay for **** service? I have 35/35mb connection and will often stream a movie with an online friend to watch + watch youtube video, game and chat while my parents are also watching netflix in another room just fine.

Sorry, it's too much money for what they're offering. IMO

$35.00 is almost half of what I pay for my cable subscription. This offer does not offer enough exclusivity to me to pay this price. But when I can bundle my internet services with my home wifi.

F**k Viacom for pulling all their content from Hulu. I will not pay for a service that is also ad-supported. I'd prefer to watch their shows legally, but I guess I'll go with the next easiest way...

I am very interested in this. I'm tired of paying the huge cable bill. This might be a good starting option.

Are the broadcast networks subject to the same restriction that DIRECTV Now has (i.e. in order for a channel to be offered in a major market, the affiliate must be owned by the network directly)?

The good news about this new offering is that it will push AT&T to get their act together more quickly in terms of offering DVR with DIRECTV Now. Also, let the price wars commence later this year.

My "internet-only" bill (25/5) from Comcast is up to $85 already... So start adding in this $35/month for YouTube service alongside Netflix, iTunes rentals, etc. and suddenly that huge cable sub bill won't start looking so bad after all.

No thanks - I'll pass.

I'm guessing the reason for the cost in that the major networks wanted to be paid money like a cable channel to be included. That's how. That's how YouTube is able to include them....

And yet another area where Apple said they nailed it. The reality however... everyone is delivering and overhauling Apple. But but... I hear some people say... Apple makes the most profits from them all. My question to those is: how do you benefit as a customer from that (why does it make you proud)? And my second question: how long can those exorbitant high (shameful high) profits sustain if they keep delivering next to nothing at this pace?

As an apple user, I don't really WANT them to screw around with this. I'm not interested in an apple tv sub that is similar to directv now or this google offering. I'm more interested in hardware and software and best in class experience.

However, bottom line, what premium tv experience could apple offer and for what price? For me, it'd have to be commercial free or it's a no go. It'd have to be inclusive and not exclude a few major providers here and there. Price? I'd be willing to probably pay a lot more than 35 a month for this. It'd have to tie into iOS, macOS, apple tv, and really enhance my overall experience with apple devices.

Could Apple even do this? Would it be feasible? No idea. But there you go.

There's no way in hell Apple would've launched a TV service with unlimited storage in a cloud-based DVR. Those greedy bastards probably would've made you pay $0.99 per show that you stored in iCloud. What Apple charges for cloud storage in this day and age is absolutely insane.

Come on Tim Cook, cut the cable on Apple TV too. You're putting too little effort in it and are way overpriced compared to competitors. Soon you'll learn not that many people are buying your Apple TV and you'll tell your customers they aren't interested in TV. You are doing the same with the computers. Don't update them for years and after 5 years telling your customers people aren't interested in computers anymore.

Oh wait... Apple isn't interested in selling by numbers but selling the best

Meh, I'll stick with my $35 grandfathered rate for 100+ channels on DTVN's streaming service. It's been a rocky start, but things are already starting to improve and DVR is expected to arrive this year. I think for that price point Google is going to have to bring more to the table.

This space is heating up and I welcome the competition, hopefully it will help drive down prices for us.

I couldn't agree more. I was THIS close to dropping DTVN, but it's now very stable. I do wish they fixed local streaming for some networks, but it was worth it to wait and retain the good price than to jump ship. They may have me for a while as long as Hulu doesn't come out swinging with something superior.

$35 a month for a "mobile first" service? When I compare it against Netflix for under $10 a month, which already works with all my devices I can't justify it. I bet there are commercials too, just to what degree is the question...

Sure, there might be more original content on the TV networks but for the money, I can find something to watch on Netflix.

I guess it depends how much you rely on TV.

Well, it seems like i'm in the majority. lol.

This is a perfect cable replacement for me and I can't wait to see how this turns out. Come on, Apple! I would love to see what they would bring to the table. Soon we shall see.

I'm loving the killing of the cable boxes from all these companies.

How is this the perfect cable replacement?

DirecTV now is the best of these services currently and offers WAY more channels for the same price

Obviously Apple's bundle will be better whenever they get around to it because... Planet of the Apps.

OK, maybe not.

I considered trying Vue when DIRECTV Now got off to a really rocky start. Then I read the requirements they put on being able to watch TV on a mobile device. Unless I misunderstood something, the short answer is, PS Vue doesn't allow mobile streaming for the vast majority of the channels they offer unless the device is physically located in the metro area near your billing ZIP code. That made it an instant no-go for me.

I'm not sure why Vue has such strict geographic restrictions on so much of their content when I can go anywhere in the U.S. and watch those same channels live on my phone through the DIRECTV Now app.

Apple could do so much more and innovate so much faster as it wasn't so focused on profits alone. I hate to see competitors are overhauling Apple left and right. In the days of the iPod competitors tried as well. But then Apple innovated and gave their customers a good reason to choose ipod. These days Apple lost its focus and doesn't put effort in delivering the best. As with their keynotes lately, they're full of "jokes" and send the message they don't take themselves seriously anymore.

Compare Chromecast with Apple TV. 4 chromecasts for one Apple TV. You should think Apple TV should be 4 times better (NOT).
