Google Wave Invite Thread

Somebody sent me an invite from somewhere else. I had them send it my 'junk' hotmail account rather then my gmail as I had to publically post my email address. I've not yet received the invite and I wonder if its because the invite system only works with gmail accounts?
No. The invite can be sent to other accounts — but you'll need a gmail account to sign up.
It also takes a few days to filter through for the invite to get to you - provided someone actually did send you one…
Thanks - my primary account is gmail but I just didn't want to post it! Its only been two days so I guess theres plenty of time for it show up. Whats the average time?
Perhaps we should make a google Wave name list GWave could be great to have during keynotes

I got my invite courtesy of a very kind MacRumors member.
It took 5 days to work its way through the Google invite system.
I am still waiting for my own set of invites so I can pass them on.
Right now it is very quiet… noone I know has a Wave account and I can't invite any friends yet!
Time will tell…

If you regularly check Twitter you can get a invite (just search for "Google Wave"). I managed to get one for my friend today like that.

Really? I've found Wave to be absolutely rubbish. Aren't those two things you name completely pointless? Maybe I'm missing the point. But it seems crap.
I will let you pretend to be my friend for a day for a google wave invite.

OK! Got my invite and I'm set to go! But now what? I don't know anyone on Wave so.... can it be used for anything else or do I need to know real people on it?! Does it have anything like groups you can join?
Also.... the million dollar question.... if anyone has a spare invite they could send me I'd be extremely grateful. Myself and a friend are putting on a charity event and we thought Wave would be a great way to get things sorted but I (like it appears everyone else) got no extra invites, So if your feeling generous, please PM me!
