Doesn't look bad at all, I will wait till they come out and see what features it has. Lots of negativity and nay sayers on this thread because it's not made by Apple though. I have a Garmin Fenix 7 and an Apple Watch Ultra, both integrate well with Apple health and Apple Fitness, if this one can do the same, it's worth a look.

It won't work with any iPhone, just like an Apple Watch won't work with any Android device.
So they're not competitors by any means.
That was the big change Google made with Wear OS 3. They killed iOS support.
We saw this with the Galaxy Watch 4. Samsung ditched Tizen and went to Wear OS and killed off any support for iOS in the process.
I actually liked my Active 2 and was looking forward to the GW 4. I like round watches.

I always favoured a round smartwatch as I really dislike square shaped watches. I don't care too much about displaying texts except for a small scrollbar or something. But if this is their idea about a round smart watch then the Apple Watch isn't all that bad. Anyway, I'd prefer the Withings Scanwatch anyway. Even less screen estate, even more classic watch.

Looks great! As others have said, bezels are indeed thick. But, overall it is a fantastic design, especially for a first iteration. The Apple Watch form factor has remained the same for a LONG TIME.

With all of the variety Apple presents each year, perhaps at some point we will see a year where they offer BOTH Squared & Rounded design options. Or at least a redesign of some sort.

SO MUCH BEZEL!

It's a nice watch for Android users, but I wonder how it will fare sales-wise. Google Pixel products historically don't really sell a lot outside niche fans/users.
I think it will outsell actual Pixel phone units - you can have a dirt cheap android in your pocket but a flashy new Pixel watch on your visible wrist. And there will be a flood of apps.

The pebble like shape is nice, but the screen choice is not.

I agree the Apple Watch design feels a bit stale, but it's so functional I can't see Apple deviating form the square-ish design.

It’s a nice design study on the apple watch. Maybe still a little rough around the edges.
