It's not always the case, but with Apple you often pay more to get less, hardware-wise. And it works for Apple because its customers are ready to pay extra for the brand and its ecosystem. That's why Apple is so profitable. But that's also why Apple will never dominate the market, and I guess it's fine with them because it's part of their strategy: if Apple products were for the mass market, they would lose their luxury image and Apple couldn't charge as much. It's like Mercedes-Benz or Four Seasons Hotels: they don't want to cater to everyone.
Better read his comment again. It’s not actually lol pretty cheap for a smartphone
Sorry, meant a lot of phone for the price (i.e. great value). HTH, NSCIt’s not actually lol pretty cheap for a smartphone
I did, read it wrong for some reason lol I was like this is cheap for a smartphoneBetter read his comment again.
I'm confused about how the competition was possible without the EU making the rules. But, increased competition is always good to see.
This is how you not make a profit. Sorry Android. This is how you do midrange. Sorry apple.
No. One year of software updates and three for security. They are the Bic disposable phones. Also check out the Redmagic 10 Pro.
Does Google make a loss on these phones? This is how you not make a profit. Sorry Android.
The EU rules apply to everyone not just Apple.I'm confused about how the competition was possible without the EU making the rules.
Just Apple Music & Apple TV+ (there's also Apple Music Classical & Shazam, of course).I'm so out of the loop these days. Which apple services are now available on Andriod? I know music for sure, apple tv?Could really use icloud storage to work with Android but pretty sur that's a no go still.
Simplifying this with the term 'dealbreaker' under-represents the fundamentally different approach Apple take, where the buyer is a customer, not the product.
When the Android operating system is involved anywhere in the purchase equation, caveat emptor.
It’s not going to happen especially in the United States. Folks in here pretending as if the 16e isn’t going to sell better than the pixel.I hope that many people try and switch.
The market needs it![]()
Agreed. And Apple's Siri debacle is appalling given the speed of innovation that Google is showing with Gemini.Absolutely! Apple is becoming less and less competitive. First time ever that I’m seriously interested in what other brands have to offer.
Just because you don’t care about ecosystems doesn’t mean others have to follow suit. Many consumers like the streamlined and seamless experience an ecosystem brings.I’d be really happy to never see the phrase ecosystem again. Hard for me to imagine people being so enamored with electronics this way, especially the “if I wasn’t so deep in the ecosystem…” people. Nothing in your life will be worse if your devices don’t speak to each other in the same way apples do. I purposefully avoid connecting my apple devices in this way and can’t bother having all my stuff synced up, what a pain. My phone is my phone, my computer is my computer.
The cult-like marketing language has worked on too many people.
Well, not everyone. (That's more of a UK sort of claim, isn't it?)The EU rules apply to everyone not just Apple.
