I, for one, am likely to buy the pixel. I’ve owned Apple products for over three decades. MacOS is still my choice of desktop platform, but I’m unimpressed with iOS’s evolution and still steamed about Apple’s 6s shenanigans.

While everyone else is lining up for Apple’s newest eye candy, I’m going for smarts and utility. I examined a Pixel 2 recently and was thoroughly impressed by the phone’s Google Assistant. The phone not only understood my poorly phrased query, it improved it. It returned a concise Wiki-like response almost instantaneously! Google’s AI trumps Siri.

Although it may be a fine piece of hardware, I don't think anyone would argue that it's the ultimate data mining tool designed by the ultimate data mining company —and you're the data.
Every single thing you do on that phone is sent back to google to sell to the highest bidder.

Totally off-topic but....I'm sorry, is it just me or does the "sleeve tattoo" on that arm look fake or like it was colored in with markers? Can't shake the feeling Google is trying to give a little "oomph" to this product being for edgy and cool people. Best of luck with your Pixel 3, Google!

Fine by me. I see no reason to have a problem with that. The problems are that the interface is still messy compared to the iPhone, the security is generally worse, and they've copied all of Apple's annoying antics like removing the headphone jack. The one good thing is the Pixel has the "pure" Android instead of Samsung's crapware-loaded version... but so what, it's still Android, still cheapo.

I have a Pixel 2 and I'm coming running back to iPhone as soon as they're released.
A few of the apps are unusable they're so buggy and I don't use many apps.

Pixel 3 to be unveiled almost exactly 1 year after Pixel 2 at the early October event. iPhone XS to be released exactly 1 year after iPhone X, September 12th. Both companies are running on predictable schedules. So is Samsung (April).

I guess at the very least, the notch height is symmetrical with the chin...

So how much did Google pay you to write that?

I mean, this thing is probably the ugliest phone out at the moment And it certainly isn’t cheap.
