interestingly they come out a few days before an Apple event that rumors point to a new low cost wireless headphones option from Beats that are this exact form factor. Hmmm 🤔

Have they though?

I'm frustrated nobody has copied the AP 1/2 style more closely and made an open ear design alternative that doesn't have the massive Apple tax

So Huawei should have copied the AirPods Pro more closely when they designed these Freebuds Pro?

This is something I wish reviewers would start to put more of a focus on. These batteries degrade relatively quickly, it's insane that your only recourse is to buy new ones.

Me too - there absolutely must be a way to make a device like this with a replaceable battery.

Reviews are saying Google improved on the cutout problems they had with prior Pixel buds, but haven't eliminated it yet.

But how do they spy on you?
Let's not kid anyone, this is a Google product. When the product is cheap or free, you're the product they're buying.

Let's not pretend Apple REALLY cares about you; unless you are paying them to.

Examples like:

We want to make the web and browsers safer with Safari but got rid of Windows support; only if you buy a Mac or iOS device from us. Surely cost saving to drop support, not because they love privacy so much it's a "human right."

Or Airtag tracking. Just an article posted right now on another Apple site they plan to release and Android app to know if a tag is traveling with you. Yeah sure, if those Android users download the app or else anyone can be tracked without an iOS device- like 80% of the world (Apple is only 17% of global marketshare for phones).

So they care; to the point of avoiding government scrutiny (surely the case here with the Tags- oh we produced the app so all can know if tracked, can't blame us now!) and if you pay them to care about your privacy.

If privacy was a fundamental right as they claim it would not be contingent upon paying them. Otherwise that is not a human right as they claim and marketing speak.

And no, Bluetooth earbuds cannot track your or any of the nonsense being claimed. Google wants to make a buck here and keep the Pixel name going; the earbuds aren't free or cost near the price tag to make.

Google can charge this price for a variety of reasons including the fact that 89% of the revenue comes from advertising which they make "better" buy following you around the web.
So Google can charge less for a product because they make enough profits elsewhere? Am I understanding you correctly?

If only other companies can make money somehow! Google must have huge profit margins! Maybe they're the most profitable company ever? If only Apple could make so much money selling iPhones, they could charge less for Airpods.

For real. If only we knew a company who makes more on other products; even pre-Airpods... 🤔

By that logic Apple was making double everyone else pre AirPods in 2015 and should be giving them away!

As an aside about copying…
Why does anybody care?

There are only so many ways to fit something into the human ear and a lot of the shapes and designs are going to look very similar as a result

Who cares?

Make something great and get the price down and let’s worry about something that matters here.

Does anyone get mad at TV makers for remotes that are the same shape?
Of course not…

There are some shapes and button arrangements that work the best in the human hand and we want all of our remotes to do that if possible.

Another victim of apple's marketing, it seems. Somehow Apple has justified overpricing their products in the name of "privacy"

There is literally zero way that the pixel buds could spy on you, but yeah sure go ahead and pay $60 more cause you bought into apple's marketing
