You were me last year at this time. I had my Brand New S5, I was so happy about it... Came downstairs rather quickly, slipped a little on my way into the kitchen and with all my fatness behind my watch, I slammed my watch screen into the corner edge of our marble countertop putting a nearly 2 inch gash into the screen.

I was devastated. I had AppleCare+. I called in and told them the problem, they said I could use one of the accident incidences on my watch, just say the word - they'd send me one in the mail and they also said they'd charge my CC for the full price of the watch until they got my scratched one.

I ended up not doing it. I lived with the scratch for the entire 1 year of my S5. I really didn't notice it unless it was in bright light. It didn't really bother me either.

With my S6 I'm being extra careful. lol.
In the future, use your AC+. There isn’t much point in buying it if you don’t use it when needed. If Apple said such to me, the watch would have been sent back asap. As long as Apple approves any AC+ work and you have been honest, don’t worry about it.

I thought it was when it was delivered to you and that's when the 14 day mark start???

You thought wrong. It is date of purchase.

It’s from the date of purchase if you buy it in the store. It’s from the date of delivery if you order it online.

Use common sense here, people are ordering it and the delivery is 4 weeks out. What good what that return policy be?

So, for online order it's from the date of being delivered to your house that's when the 14 day return policy starts?

Show me directly from Apple that that is the case. I haven’t seen anything in writing from Apple that states that.

don’t provide advice if you don’t know the answer... she is right. straight from Apple.com...”
  • You have 14 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.”

For some reason I thought she was asking about Apple Care+ hence the link I supplied, which does state from the day of purchase.

In regards to her talking about a watch return, that is different than what I was talking about.

If any of you had bothered to see the link I posted, it would have been obvious I was talking about something different than her. It looks like none of you did that.

In regards to being wrong about something I wasn’t t talking about, yes, I was wrong. The OP is about AC+, Big and I were talking AC+ and so, my thought continued on with AC+. I am man enough to admit I was wrong.

AppleCare won't cover a scratch on your watch face. Its seen as normal wear and tear. Do what you want OP, but returning it for a new one is 1. Wrong and 2. You will scratch the aluminum watch face again. The ionX glass scratches pretty easily.
Right, they'd rather you smash the watch and then they'll cover it.

Yeah, got scratches on my watch too. Looks like I'll be returning it. Anyone here able to get their hands on this loop???

I warned you before you got the watch. And I was right that time. :p

That band is not in stock at my store according to the website. I am going to the apple store tomorrow and I can inquire if they have it. If they do, it would cost you the price of the band plus shipping.

Yes! you were right about that. I still can't believe it has managed to scratch my watch. Thankfully, I ordered 3 watches lol I just want the Blue Leather Link this time around. It's just taking forever to get here :(

Keep in mind that Apple is worth $2T because they keep things profitable. They aren’t just going to take the hit for watches that are returned damaged like this, instead they are going to raise the price of the watch, so people like you and me who buy the watches are going to be the ones who cover the cost of people returning damaged watches.
Actually, what they’ll do is refurbish the damaged watch and turn around and sell it back at a discount while still making a profit. Assuming the customer buys another watch following the return, they get to record revenue for three watches (two new, one refurbished).
