That is fast! Normally takes a few days.

Yeah was surprised about how fast they got in touch with me... I did complain about the program more in general though and how bad my experience was just sining up for iUP (took me 4 visits to the store).

Didn't really help much though... they ordered the phone for me and prioritized it, still have to wait until the 27th. Told me to ask the store about the extra $40 I'm paying due to the wait.

I know you delete your post, but we live in the same town. Could have given you the number to the Executive Relations guy that handles people in our area. I only needed one call, but the outcome was the same. Glad it got sorted for you though.

Did they tell you what happens with the extra monthly payment and if you'll be able upgrade on launch date next year?

I have a 32gb black plus on reserve I can pick up today, really want a 128 so I called in. Just wish they could give more of an estimate on how long before I can get it. If it's like Monday, or even any day next week that's not so bad. I just hope it doesn't take a couple weeks because I am really tempted to just get the 32 and live with that for a year.

They seem to update the system everyday at 12:01 AM PST, so check then if they have new stock (on the page where it says if you are eligible to upgrade). Since most of us who called are getting their phones on Sept. 26 in 10 days, I am assuming most stores get a large shipment then.

Is that what they are quoting, is the 26th for us IUP ppl? The apple rep I talked to at the store for my reservation today told me he called 2 days ago and got one for pick up today. Said that he wouldn't cancel my reservation in case I changed my mind and came back later to get it.

That's what I was told for 256gb and what most people here and in other forums are saying. Most stores I checked still have 32gb versions available so might be a little less demand for those and that's why you were able to reserve one, or you got lucky and someone cancelled their order. If I were you, I'd go for 128gb, the 32gb fills up fast... that's assuming you don't mind paying a bit more though.

I had a 64gb 6s plus, so the payments won't change for the 128. The 32 would be cheaper. And I'm worried about space as the OS is ~5gb already. I reserved the black one a week ago. Haven't seen another in the area show up.

Hey thanks for the offer. No, I didn't think to ask that question.

The gist was that I'm scheduled to pick up my JB7+ on the 26th at the Southlake location. I'm certainly going in later in the week to make sure they can confirm my pickup and ask about the extra payment.

Let me know what they say!

Nothing ground breaking or overly positive, but it seems like they're really trying the best they can to hasten the process, short of inviting us to Shenzhen to make our own iPhone.
Don't fall for the ruse, Apple's only responding to avoid further heat from the press. They do as little as possible.

Apple's the 800lb. Gorilla.
They do what THEY want.
When THEY want to.

There is also a form you can fill out that. I was emailed the form Wednesday so I filled it out and was told I should have a black 128 plus by the 26th (same date as others here apparently).

Until then I'll continue to check the stock online daily like I did last year. Sometimes you'll be suprised.

Oh no, not the ruse!!! I have no reason to distrust them. I'm not sure who pooped in your cereal.

I know people love to troll, but I don't think many people understand the complexity of what they expect of Apple every iphone launch. I doubt there is a consumer product that even comes close to the amount of demand that exists for launch day iphones. Add in the complexity of different colors/sizes/carrier configs and it's impossible to ensure everybody has the exact phone they want available on day one.

So the Executive Apple guy ordered a phone for me for the 26th, but was able to pick one up today :)

I would always check at 12:01 and it would say there were none available for my state. Then two days ago I realized that they update stock for each state (or a few states - not sure) at a time. So, it takes until around 12:10 am to show the available stock for Texas. When I reserved my phone yesterday they had every model/color (except jet black 256gb) for every carrier (same for the day before but couldn't make it to the Apple store that day).

The guy in the Apple Store also mentioned that if you are in iUP and reserve a phone, that phone is yours... this contradicts the iUP reservation page which says your phone may be unavailable at the time of pickup.

Good luck to everyone else!

P.S. - While last year took 3 visits to the Apple Store and around 7 hours to enroll in iUP, this time it only took 10 min. Remember to backup your phone (If you forgot they do it in store), don't erase your phone (they need to get the serial/IMEI from settings->about), and find out what your carrier account number is in addition to your login (speeds up the process a lot).

Must be why that within 3 days of getting an email from Apple not only did they respond to my survey, they found a 128gb black model. Yep they definitely suck. Much quicker response then any other Android manufacturer. Hell if something happens to the phone i can take it back to their store. Cant do that with any other manufacturer at all.
