My XS Max case arrived today, 1% power. I think it’s heavier than expected but the size / shape actually makes it easier to hold and use the phone. It’s nice. Hope it stays white!

Obviously you’ve never seen one before after a short while... it won’t stay white. It’ll be a few shades of brown in no time.

I put the Max (with case on) on the Mophie wireless charger last night. The phone was around 60% and the case was 0%. After 6.5 hours, the phone was fully charged and the case was at 64%.

I wanted to give a heads up to people who think they can do as I did, and think both devices will be charged in the morning. Unless you don't have much to charge, you may not start the day at 100% with both devices.

Guess we have to use a wired fast charger to charge both at the same time

I have a 8000mah battery case from zero lemon and both would finished charging in 6 hours or so

Good to know. The night I used wireless charging, I did notice the case seemed to lose charge quicker than I expected. But I hadn’t checked it to see the level it started at. I bet it just hadn’t charged all the way overnight. I added an iRing to the back of my case so I can’t wirelessly charge now.

How big is an 8000 mah battery case?!

I’m seriously considering returning the case if it charges this slow wirelessly. I really don’t want to get a usb-c charger and cable just for this.....sigh

Could this be used as and when needed like an external battery pack. I wouldn’t want to keep it on my phone everyday as it will ruin the battery but wouldn’t mind having one on hand for trips or heavy usage days.

Of course it can be used as needed it’s not permanent once you put it on the iPhone. Also it will not harm the internal battery of the iPhone in any way shape or form.

People need to update themselves on battery tech. These are not 90’s batteries anymore.

Not true at it will stay white with a little care. Like anything else white clean it.

My iPhone 7 white silicone case is still white as white as well my AW white band.

There are lots of reviews on Apple.com for the older battery cases saying it ruined their batteries.

Apple.com is almost as bad as Amazon as far as reviews are concerned. I wouldn't give much credence to the reviews on there. Battery tech is battery tech. The Apple battery case will not harm your internal battery.

I don’t really look to other consumers for advice on what the battery case did to their phones. I hear all sorts of wild things when I go to the Genius Bar...people not understanding much about the the internals of their phones.

I am on vacation in Japan, just got it yesterday. I have to say this thing is brick now but some reason this case makes it easier to hold the iPhone especially for typing. Makes it stable and it’s a perfect fit in my hand.

I did have a problem where the case battery being dead at 0% wouldn’t charge at all when I put my phone in and plugged in the Lightning cord (I am using USB-PD charger). Basically with the battery dead it’s was as if the battery electronics was in an off state. The iPhone did not see the case at all and charging could not start. Only after I removed the iPhone and re-plugged in the charging cable to start the charging process that I could put the phone in.

So that guy in another thread if he put his iPhone in the case directly then tried to charge it overnight, most likely the phone didn’t charge at all and the case would seem to be DOA. It did for me at least. I fully charged last night and it seems everything is great.

Anyone not have the dual battery on the lock screen or it just me?

The dual battery only appears on the lock screen within a couple of seconds when you plug in the charging cord. Then it disappears.

You have to check in notification centre for the battery %

Well, it seems to be an oversight on Apple’s part. I would have appreciated two battery meters…

It's really hard to harm these batteries now a days. The Smart Battery Case is way safer than a cheap battery case off somewhere like Amazon that just constantly keeps charging your battery. You need to cycle the battery once and a while not have a battery case on that is just keeping it 100% like it's plugged in all the time. The Smart Battery case is designed with that in mind.
[doublepost=1548026074][/doublepost]So does the battery case power the iPhone until the case is depleted or does it allow the iPhone battery to run down and then start charging it?

So is the consensus that we can keep the battery case on all the time? And that won’t affect the battery health?

Based on my usage, I will probably never dip into the internal phone battery at all with case on.

I wouldn't worry about it. Your using a genuine Apple accessory if it harms it they will have to repair it.
