Got to see the Gold today, NOT impressed

I also finally got a chance to stop by the Apple store yesterday to check out the gold color in person, just to see what all the hype is about. To me, the gold looks okay in pictures, and I'm glad it's more of a champagne than bling bling gold. Bling bling gold would have been hideous.

In person, the space grey was boring. Looked like it look a step back and went back to what the black 4/4s looked like.

I think the gold looked better in person than what I've seen in the pictures. The gold was very subtle, almost too subtle. The gold ring around the home button just bugs me.

At the end, I'm glad I went with the silver. I had the black 4 and 5, and was definitely ready for a change in color. Some might say the silver is no different from the white 5, but to me, I think that's the best color.

I like the fact that they chose not to make it a bright obnoxious looking gold. I'd say it's the best looking of the new iPhones. The Space Grey is a step backwards in my opinion. The slate was nice due to the black metal band but now with the way the grey looks if say it's the worst of the 3 new models. Just looks so plain.

I have to agree with this, the Space Gray is the ugliest of the 3, IMO. I was at the Apple store and took a good look at all of them. The gold and silver model have a nice touch of class and style along with a fresh new look. The space gray looks like an Oakland Raiders phone. Just boring and it kinda makes the phone look "old". To each his own but yeah, I really feel the space gray one is the worst looking of the 3. Perfect if you don't want to get ripped off, nobody will think you have a new phone.

I ordered my Gold 5s the min they went on sale. I received it Wednesday .... I m thrilled
I have it but, there is little difference between silver and gold. It looked like a deeper gold in pics. If your waiting for a gold, why wait? Silver or gold they pretty much look the same to me.
Maybe I'm just not seeing it.

I like all three colors, honestly. I became more of a white-bezel fan after having the 4S in white, and was a little torn between silver and gold. Went with the gold and the red leather case and am seeing how that goes. I do like the gold ring around the home button, but am a little torn over whether I want to keep the red case or go with a black. I like the red case on its own but with the white it looks a little childish.. or it might just grow on me because it's unique and not the same black case that all my friends have.

Gray for me!

I agree. I had my heart set on getting gold on launch day but got stuck with space gray. I thought I could exchange it in 30 days if the gold became available. Well, I'm happy to say that the space gray has grown on me and I'm actually happy with it. The last iPhone I had was a black 4s so I thought I'd go for the gold to try something very different from my last phone. The space gray is different too and just fine for me. I'm over my gold envy
