That's my bet, espeically since the 13 Mini is a better phone than 12 Mini

(seems to have battery/performance that fits in that chassis better than 12 Mini)

Not that they want to rebrand I'm sure, but it wouldn't be a bad time to rebrand the 13 Mini as just the "iPhone Mini"
I think that Apple will save that for spring of 2024 since they can ride the “last mini” hype for a while. Then they’ll release the mini as the SE with a regular LCD and slightly upgraded specs to the 13 mini. Saves them R&D costs for the SE line while avoiding cannibalization of their “older” offerings until then.

Do you think Apple will keep the 13 Mini in stock until the 14 is released?

It will be in the line up for a few years after the 14 is released at a lower price, just like how the iphone 11 and 12 have been. Its just that there will be no NEW mini iphone from here on as things stand e.g. 14 Mini.
So I dare to wait until the 14 is released, so prices on the 13 will come down?

part of my speculation on the mini 13 production being halted would have to do with whether there is a severe supply constraint on the a15…. If they really are going to use the a15 in the iPhone 14 then it makes sense, but anyway this thread is just saying…. If you really want a mini 13 then you can find one today…. It’s speculation for whether it will still be available after the 14 launches, whether supplies dry up before or after or at all is a guessing game

The vaja grip case ended up being super nice, very strong MagSafe magnet and tight fit, verdict-happy

I got a 13 mini last week. There was a decent wait from Apple, and a ridiculous wait from AT&T, but I got it from Best Buy within 2 days. I wanted a 128 gb in the blush pink color to save for my granddaughter, although I’m using it until the 14s come out because I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. ;-p

I actually like it a lot. If supply is gonna be really low, I might pick up another for my grandson.

I suppose if it was my main device that I constantly use I would want more screen real estate but when I’m home I use my iPad most of the time. The mini size just seems perfect to me for going out, much better size for camera use, also I just switched to zoom mode and I think I like the way it renders mail etc, it Reduces what you see on the screen some but icons and text are larger and does not feel as cramped… anyway I love it, no regrets, it’s as big as you can get and still be one handed

My hope is that they simply keep the Mini in the lineup and refresh it every 2-3 years. The only appeal of this device is the size. I think it's clear that most consumers saw the 6.1" regular iPhone as the better value for not much more money.

I checked at the at the Swedish Apple Online Store - they had both the 12 & 13 versions of the Mini.
I highly doubt that they will remove both at the same time.
The Mini 13 won't go anywhere, anytime soon. But maybe the 12 will retire itself.
If the numbers were as abysmal as reported then it may be all old stock, there may be more 12 minis in stock than 13 just due to how many they produced before they knew the demand was not there. Cook probably ordered far fewer 13 minis, both will probably just die a slow death as they sell out over the next year

Possibly supply issue but apple store in my area is completely out of stock of the 128 and 256 GB variants. only 512 GB is what they have in stock for the 13 mini.

Edit to add: Thankfully I picked up one about a month ago. I use it mainly for beta testing. It's not my daily driver tho and only stays home. My daily driver is the 13 pro max.

FYI guys !

Always remember the outgoing phone model, if sold by Apple always gets a spec drop in terms of storage!!

Personally the mini phones are not just about being pocketable and best reach one handed but it’s forcing me to …

Use a smartphone much more smartly: less consumption (I’ve never been the popular kid but always known and cool with all cliques in school), never been a creative aside from music (playing saxophone ) and social media hype and running with it has always escaped me. I’m good with that.

I’m using calendar and Things! Planning music more now and calls and stock trading and similar in a mobile sense more.

Sorry I started iOS school with PDA’s where PIM was king! Sad Apple reinvented the phone yet only now in ios16 figured out how to help us with duplicate contacts Eesh!

Planning to grab another 12 or 13 mini after the 14 reveal (if the 'Mini' is--in fact--dis-continued) . . .

. . . my 12 mini is still fantastic: it's as performant as performant gets, but it won't last forever ;)
Agreed. I tried the 13 mini but I still had my current 12 mini and that forced me to only notice significantly faster app launches on the 13 mini while sour the lens flare of the 13 mini was equal to or worse ~ anecdotally due to summer weather starting where I live a few weeks back.

I’m reconsidering upgrading to the 13 mini while also getting the 14 Pro.

There's no rush to buy anything here
Apple isn't going to stop making the 13 Mini's

I'm extremely confident they will keep making and selling these alongside newer/larger iPhone 14 models.

Not making an iPhone 14 Mini ≠ no iPhone 13 Mini's being made or availble to buy

I’m not so confident Apple will keep the 13 mini for sale, yet more as a “while supplies last”.

Reasoning: the SE 3 was released this year and cheaper so potentially more sales volume over the year as Apple is advertising it straight up where as the 12/13 minis it was a selectable option to the regular iPhones never advertised for 18mths except on twitter.

As if Tim Cook hates the mini!!

Secondly, every iPhone that continues beyond the year for sale Apple reduces the tip storage tier: 4/4S/5/5S/6/6S/7/8/X/XS/Xr/etc! This has NEVER failed!

Outside of the USA the 12 is not available for sale at Apple retail stores or on main iPhone page.

Love the mini and the 13 mini’s slight weight gain and performance over the 12 mini is noticeable. I’m reconsidering.

I ordered a 13 Mini in green now instead of waiting until autumn. I don't think the price will get much lower and I was worried Apple will eventually run out of stock since it's not a very popular model.

I bought a 128GB Mini in Starlight last week from Argos here in the UK. I got £50 off, which was nice. I've upgraded from a first generation SE that has been having battery troubles for a while now (random shutdowns).

I'm very happy with it - size and weight-wise, it's perfect for me and my tiny hands. It's much, much quicker than my SE and has more capacity and capabilities than I'll ever need. Hopefully by the time it comes to upgrade in 4/5 years' time, Apple will have given the SE a new design (I've never been a fan of the 6/7/8 style of phone).

Honestly I find the SE2 and 3 (and the 8/7/6 at that) easier to read than the Mini. Don't get me wrong, I love the Mini's in general, but their aspect ratio is so squeezed, and the default text size that fits properly in that aspect ratio is on the smaller side... my eyes deal better with the less crisp but easier-to-read default text on the others.
Why is that? I noticed that too. Despite the SE being only a tiny bit wider and a lot shorter, it felt easier on my eyes. Despite using all the zoom and text size changes.

Perhaps just the difference between oled and lcd for text, although oled is better ,I think it’s plausible readability wins on the panel used in the se, personally I turned on zoom and bold for my mini 13, works well for me

Lower resolution on the SE models vs the mini’s. Simple.

Adjust the system font then all apps will follow unless they have their own individual setting.

So I dare to wait until the 14 is released, so prices on the 13 will come down?
The price of the 14 will increase to match inflation, just like their MacBook lineup, whereas the 13’s pricing will remain as is. If you want a 13 just get one as soon as you can as there is no point in waiting unless you wish to pay extra for a 14.
