The M7 processor is interesting and a surprise after reading this one Apple's website. But other than that, nothing excites me and this will be the first iphone that I will not be getting.

"M7 knows when you’re walking, running, or even driving. For example, Maps switches from driving to walking turn-by-turn navigation if, say, you park and continue on foot. Since M7 can tell when you’re in a moving vehicle, iPhone 5s won’t ask you to join Wi-Fi networks you pass by. And if your phone hasn’t moved for a while, like when you’re asleep, M7 reduces network pinging to spare your battery."

Underwhelming, I have a 4S and I still wont be upgrading to this phone. I may consider getting another Smartphone all together.

Very unimpressed. No 128GB version, iPhone 5C cost $99 on contract (HAHA), iPhone 5 still have 8MP camera...

I give up, selling the rest of my Apple shares.

E from me.
Best thing about it was iOS7.

iPhone 5c is a rip off at that price. I thought it was supposed to be more affordable?!

5s - camera features are nice, but I wouldnt ever use them once the novelty wears off - the same as panoramic photos - I mean serious, how often do you use it??
Speed - probably so slight in everyday usage you wouldnt notice except in the more intensive games.
Fingerprint sensor - this is much more interesting, but Im giving it a year to mature a little. Let them get over any bugs and refine it, and once more apps actually use it, I'm jump on the boat.

For now, Im sticking with my iPhone 5, and will head straight to the iPhone 6 next year.

I am a little underwhelmed and have sold my AAPL stock on this basis. Not that I think it will go down significantly but it is not going to outperform the rest of the market now.

Personally I will not be upgrading from iPhone 5 to 5S. I look forward to the Touch ID technology in an iPhone 6.

I am more interested this year in seeing what the new iPads look like. I switched from iPad 3 to iPad Mini but want to go back to full size iPad - plus new Kindle Paperwhite for e-books (used to have a Kindle 3G).

Being generous C-

I've already got an iPhone 5 which just increased in value (not that I'm selling it) because its true Black. Not some shade of gray.

Apple just screwed those who love black. In iPhones the black has been their signature color, just like silver has been for the MacBook Pro. So much for consistency. It seems that a very popular color would be left alone & not discontinued. Oh Apple, complacency takes its toll again.

Other than that it was a snooze fest. Hopefully going forward somehow Apple will get their mojo back. They've really got their work cut out for them when it comes to iPhone 6 or whatever they call it. But then again they've become the fat cat in the industry, so half measures work for them. Why not do some easy upgrades & continue profit taking.

Lol it's a massive upgrade from the 4S.

Anyway I'm giving it a B-. Was hoping for 128 gb. The 5S was solid but the 5Cs price is very strange.

Giving this one a solid D.

Very disappointed that there is no preorder option for the 5S. I will be out of town on release day. Waiting in a line is not an option. My wife will be home and would have been able to accept a preordered delivery. I will have to now take my chances at either Apple or AT&T on the 21st or wait it out until supply is replenished. I'm really hoping that with the 5S and 5C available on so many carriers and in so many different color options that a Black 32gb 5S is available for me at either At&t or Apple on the 21st.

Personally, I think the swiss-cheese cases for the 5C are ugly. I guess internally, they figured out that the 5C color would be covered by a case so they made cases with holes? I don't get it.

Yeah, I actually laughed out loud when I saw that. That to me says they decided to make it in additional colors, and then someone realized later on, "Well, you know, the color might be a moot point, as most people will cover it! How can we fix that? I know! Let's get out a hole puncher, and put a bunch of holes in our "exclusive" cover, and then we can charge way more than a cover with a bunch of holes is worth! Great idea! Someone go tell Tim we've solved the issue!"

I always hate the comments about "Steve would have done X" or "Steve wouldn't do Y" that people post on here all the time, but this time, I think it's justified. I honestly believe Steve Jobs would have looked at whoever thought of that idea, and fired them on the spot for being a moron.

D. Would have been a C if the 5C had 1 innovative feature or a cheaper price but $550 unlocked is crazy for year old internals. 5S is ok. I like the new chip and scanner but not sure the real world implications.

B

It wasnt a ground breaking launch but it wasnt a duff either.

Suprised at the grades here.

ios7 is a big change, the hardware is much quicker, the camera enhancements are amazing, itunes radio for free, iwork for free, touch security integrated through the OS. 64 Bit and motion recording is going to open up massive potential in new apps.

This is the bedrock of the future for Apple products.

I dont know if people were expecting NFC, bigger screen, quad core and rear projection display. I think it's a great stepping stone forward.

I think people forget that Apple has always been about design and simplicity. Innovation will come with iWatch and iTV now.

The phone platform is plateauing until things like NFC become widely usuable in the wider world. Apple unlike others dont pack their devices full of cool features that practically are redundant in the wider world.

I'm sure next year we will see a new iphone design and possibly screen size as well as new mac designs.

The 5c is likely to fit perfectly in the chinese market which is way bigger than we could imagine.

The only exciting thing revealed is the 64-bit processor. Other than that it was a complete and utter snorefest.

I give it a D.

I'll give it a C.

I knew what was coming and wasn't surprised. I'm not grading it any lower because Apple did a good job reminding me why they are leagues ahead of the competition in terms of design and aesthetic.

You know it was going to be bad when the most innovative thing is new colors

Apple needs a home run at this point to keep investors happy and to show that they can succeed without Steve

Grade: F

A. B. C. D. F.

Grade the event based on what you wanted to see and what you were expecting to see.

For me there was nothing new or special I didn't see coming. All upgrades to the 5S were minor.

GRADE C+

Agreed every bit was pre leaked. A very boring low energy presentation. 5s really brings nothing ground breaking to the table. C-

If you didnt read any leaks whatsovee would u be happier or not

If I didn't read any of the leaks I still would not be impressed. All the upgrades in the 5S are common: better camera and faster OS. Those two are a given. The fingerprint is neat but really not something I find over the top needed. Also, the new iOS is just keeping up with other smartphone companies. They should have upgraded the iOS two years ago.

Not one person I've spoken to today is excited or plans to upgrade to the i5S, there simply isn't enough there.
