That's right, but the case seems to scuff the phone almost right after you install it for the first time. It doesn't take days for the damage to occur.

That's even harder to hear because it would mean that the designers at GRAFT sold products KNOWING it'll cause damage to people''s phones?! And yeah the reviewers too.

I'd be interested in this 50% off coupon if anybody that receives one never plans on using it. Seems like quite a few of this threads posters would receive the coupon, however, most also sound like they want nothing more to do with Graft. So, if anyone is interested just shoot me a message.

I emailed them this past sat morning. I have emailed them 3 times since to provide me with proper returning procedure and have yet to receive any feedback.

I've emailed them 3 times since Thursday, and have not heard from them either. Does anyone know a phone number for them?

I've emailed their support address twice and also sent a reply to my shipping confirmation email (from their orders email address).

Also, nothing showing up in my spam folder.

ANTENNA SCUFFING

Customers who have already received their case (black or white)

We will send each existing customer a clear die-stamped protective film that seamlessly covers the top antenna band of your iPhone to prevent any scuffing or additional scuffing and a one-time 50% off coupon for any future products. The film is similar to existing films in the market and once applied onto the phone, it’s almost invisible. If you are unsatisfied with this solution, you can return your case for a full refund.

So the $60 case will come with a band-aid now?

Hahahaha, joking. It's nice to see a public acknowledgement though.

anyone that has this case, is it easy to access the volume keys? or are they deeply recessed?

They can be pretty difficult to get to, depending on which hand you typically use to handle the phone. I'm a lefty and I have a pretty tough time adjusting the volume with my thumbs, typically have to hold it differently so i can get in there. Same goes for the mute switch

I disagree. The cut out is wide and open enough to be easily used to adjust the volume buttons. You should have no problems unless you have very huge fingers

As stated in one of my previous posts, I have by no means huge fingers and find the buttons hard to press. It would be nice if the antenna band was covered as well since the cutout is purposely made larger to accommodate the AT&T iPhones.

I have tiny girly hands for a guy and even I find the volume buttons hard to push. It's a little frustrating at times I have to admit. Makes it tough to adjust the volume especially when on a call.

I have to agree - I have fairly average sized hands and do find the volume buttons a bit of a challenge to get to (Especially when wearing even the thinnest of gloves)

That having been said, any case of this type, unless it has external buttons ala the apple bumper, is going to present the same challenge.

Unless you're this dude...

For those out there that have the Black matte or chrome, how is the black case holding up after a week or two of continuos use? There were only a handful of reports claiming the black case corners were chipping so hopefully the majority are holding up well.

My major concern is how the case will stand up as us SoCal residents transition from shorts to jeans (yep, it occasionally gets below 60, pretty chilly for us) and if the corners will start to chip with continuos push in/pull out from my trouser pocket.

I've only had it a week, but my black/chrome looks brand new so far. Fit and finish is extremely good. I'll take the film and the 50% off though. :) I have a very, very minor shiny line after latching the case, but I was able to rub it and it looks fine...so no permanent damage at this time. Frankly, I'm not too concerned about it. This case seems to fit so well that I probably won't remove it very often, and after how scuffed my 4 antenna was from the Apple bumper, this is nothing. :) My 4S antenna looks great and would even with a very minor line at the top.

Agreed. My only downside to the case.

Graft Concepts is having a vote on their FB page for the type of finish we want on the new white model. Please go and vote guys!

http://www.facebook.com/graftconcepts

My question is this, if the finish is matte won't it collect stains just as bad as the soft finish. It's a texture, and anything with a texture grabs and hold stains way faster than something smooth. I think the matte finish is a bad idea.

I could be wrong, but just from being a mom of little children I know that much. Unless they treat the surface, which I don't think they will. I really think gloss finish is best.

I like my black with matte, fits great, and looks nice with my white lucky labs skin underneth.

Complaints

Doesnt fit larger headphone jacks or most aftermarket ipod cables.

Also yeah the volume/mute buttons are difficult to access.

Recommendations. Use a lucky labs wrap under the graft to avoid the top scratch. Maybe a version 2 will address with and increase sizing on ports.

I like mine and will keep. Also looking forward to getting a free 50% off coupon via email

the antenna scuffing is being addressed by Graft sending people a decal guard, which would essentially be like the Lucky Labs wrap

as for the 50% off coupon, as nice as that is, I personally wouldn't imagine buying another $60+ case after already having purchased one, especially from Graft who only has one product ATM

I voted glossy white for that same reason. Matte will probably get dirty quite easily whereas a glossy should be cleanable (though will likely scratch and dull over time).

I bought a dock extender from buyijet to deal with the small opening at the bottom. Hoping that solves the issue.

The Grilamid TR-90 material used in the new line of Caze bumpers is superb - has a metallic look to it even tho' it's plastic and is very nice to grip.

You could get the 50% off (which I think is pretty generous considering what other companies offer for their mistakes) and sell it to someone for $10 :D they save $30+ for only $10 so you're both coming out ahead.. To them it's still like 33% off

What's stopping someone from getting the coupon, returning their cases, and then re purchasing it with the coupon?

lol

Coupon is supposed to be only for future products as per their blog. I would assume it excludes this case out right now if they are smart about it.

"a one-time 50% off coupon for any future products"

I actually commented on their facebook page regarding this issue, and they told me they were aware of the issue with the headphone port sizing but that, with the way the case is currently made and the materials used to make it, if they increased the port size any more, it would make portions of the case too thin and therefore more fragile.

Otherwise, for now I guess the options include: a) buy new headphones, b) buy a headphone adapter that offers a smaller jack, or c) use an x-acto knife and shave off some of the excess plastic molding on your current headphones to make it fit (what I did - see photo)

can current owners here confirm what headphone they have that are compatible with the Graft in stock form, besides the oem apple buds?
