You have much to learn, grasshopper.

The day of actually owning software is long gone. You buy a right to use (and not modify) a particular piece of software for a particular OS for a specified period of time. This right to use only covers specific uses the software manufacturer wants you to have regardless of how you think said piece of software should work. Of course, these terms may be changed at any time by the software manufacturer. And certain terms, like 'unlimited', have different meanings completely.

You don't know anything about Steam do you? Once you buy something on Steam you can download an unlimited amount of times. If GTA is released on Steam for Mac and you bought the PC version previously, you get the Mac version for free.

I skipped VC and might finally break down and try it on the Mac.

Vice City was great. It wasn't a monumental jump from GTA:3, but it held it's own.

I just hope they end up releasing GTA:IV on the App Store sometime! I never got a 360 or PS3 but would love to give the game a spin.

I was writing my previous comment in jest. Just something about the software industry in general.

Yes, I understand how Steam works. But buying something on the App Store is not the same as buying it through the Steam 'App Store'. Different rules probably apply.

I highly recommend all three games (even if they are 15 dollars each ), I was hoping my Steam copies would get steamplay compatibility between both Windows and OSX.

Only ever play Football Manager on Mac but this really could tempt me. GTA3 and Vice city were great, didn't care much for San Andreas or GTA4 though.

All importantly does this support the use of USB gamepads?

I wonder if these will ever appear as Steamplay titles, and if they'll be priced competatively with the PC versions? During Steam sales you can usually pick up the whole GTA 3 series for £5, or the whole collection (1-4 plus episodes) for £15.

Cool but why the wait? Gah. Have to wait until September. San Andreas was the best in my opinion.

I really hope more developers start making games that support Mac. Definitely hope the next Sims is a digital download. Sick of having to have the CD with me to play.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; ru-ru) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

This would be good. Not a gamer but liked gta 3. Will probmably buy iv, if released. Maybe 3 as well... How good is the graphics?

Has anyone heard anything about them bringing GTA IV as well? That would be fantastic. I'd love a GTA with some descent graphics.

GTA3 was easily the best and most groundbreaking game to come out since 2000, probably even the 90's. I will ALWAYS be able to go back to that game and redo the entire story. Its a classic.

Oh and they should also release liberty city and vice city stories as well. VCS is the only gta game ive never played and would love to beat that game.

I can understand GTAIV not coming to Mac due to the deep Games for Windows Live integration, but hopefully they plan ahead with the LA Noire PC port and don't use platform specific technologies so that LA Noire can eventually come to Mac.

How do games like this on a computer compare with PS3? I haven't played many games on computer because I usually go PS3 or Wii but I really like the GTA franchise! I have a steering wheel and gas pedal so I'm not sure how I'd like the game play on my Mac?

Doesn't Work :(

It just flashes the icon on my dock and closes again then pops up a window saying the game is corrupt and i need to re download. I have done that with no fix. I'm running 10.7.2 beta but had the same issues on cider ports of my own with standard 10.7.0. I think it's a permissions issue with the /Library/Preferences folder. Would have thought Rockstar would have tested that before releasing it. Grrrrrrr.

It's a good start for Mac gaming. I hope they bring out GTA IV to AppStore in the near future.

If OSX has decent games library to begin with, I'd willing to go OSX completely. But for now, BootCamp Windows help me to maximize my hardware potential
