Couldn't think of a better place for a statue of Steve Jobs than in Hungary? I understand they wanted to honor them, but this statement is weird. The best place would be at the new Apple headquarters.

That is really, really ugly.
I'm actually a little bit shocked. It's like, why even bother when something looks that creepy/goofy/stupid/unnatural?
He doesn't even have the right face.

That things looks so restarted. What where they thinking what's with the 4 finger? The more I looked at it at the more retarded it looked and probably as much for the artist.

----------

I don't understand when people say this. How would we know how Steve would like it?

Did you read the book about him, you would get why Steve Jobs would also think this thing was retarded and in bad taste.

Where it was done is not an issue its fine that they did it, but its not well done it looks like something a student would do not a professional. I think they just did not take enough time to think it through or the people over in Hungary have one hell of a sense of humor. :D

Ouch, looking at that "making of" you can really see where they messed up...

They apparently sculpted him from a single picture, which resulted in derpy looking lips, a weirdly big chin and, due to the picture not showing his knees, no sense of leg proportions.

If they had tilted his head up a bit, shortened the buttocks, fixed the lips and the chin, extended the thumb...

I'm glad it's not only me.. They didn't do a very good job.. I've seen all of the Apple Keynotes, and that does not look like the Steve I know.. :p

If they based it on the photo in the magazine, why is the statue in walking pose?

Looks like he's attempting to throwing up gang signs....

Your avatar when seeing this statue:

I'm sorry but that statue sucks!

- It doesn't really look like Steve
- He is way too thin like right before he died
- His hand and fingers look weird
- It is an awkward pose

Why wouldn't they do him when he was healthier like in his prime and not as thin?

I have thought since he died that they will put a nice statue of him at the space ship when it is done. :)

Make it happen Tim! :apple:

I think a statue in Steve Style would be made of solid glass (or similar looking material). I'd love to see such a statue of this:

This thing looks freaking retarded. He is staring at his fingers like its the first time he ever saw them. I am speechless on how dumb this thing looks....

Maybe he's staring at the empty space in his hands where an iPhone 5 will be when it's actually released.

This is getting out of hand. Almost creepy. And it looks more like Robin Williams, anyway.

You bunch of miserable gits
It's a tribute to Steve jobs and what he did for small company in Hungary
What's wrong with that?
It's better than some of the other crap I have seen as tributes
And I'm sure they aren't bragging about being the first, it just what the press will have picked up

"Rudy, you mean you are all alone in Budapest on Christmas Eve?"
"Yes, Mr. Matuschek."
"Rudy, do you like Steve Jobs?"
"Yes, Mr. Matuschek."
"How would you like to see his statue?"
"That would be wonderful Mr. Matusicheck."
"Then you will Rudy, you will. Come on."

[Near the end of the 1940 movie Shop Around the Corner.]

*Replace Steve Jobs with chicken noodle soup.
*Replace his statue with a list of other foods.

I don't know if anyone here likes old movies but I like this one.

Because Hungary is where the company Graphisoft is located who paid for it. And they probably thought that the Graphisoft headquarters were a very nice place for this statue.

He also needs his thighs shortened rather substantially.

nice if they'd chosen to erect it when he was alive and disappointing the sculptor had to copy someones photo from the economist, the end result looks like C3PO.
