SBTI. It doesn't look brushed. Looks like matte plastic

Thanks. Directing movies and series is all I ever dreamed of and now it comes true!

Haha so funny! You can’t imagine how often I hear people asking for a role. Everywhere! Eg. I used to like car-sharing but there was not a single journey without some random passengers telling me that their actual job is just a part-time job and in fact they are actors. Some were bagging for a role you wouldn’t imagine how embarrassing that was. It got so annoying that I began to tell them I work in a factory producing the breadcrumbs for fish sticks.

Edit: Back to topic. I am still torn and need some advice. Should I go for SSG or SBTi? My first priority is the durability. They both go very well with all kinds of bands and clothing. Which one is prone to scratches? Please no opinions without real world experience 🙏
If you like the sbTi go for it. I love the graphite, but would hate to see ss scratches coming through.

A smidge shiny
That's the flash. It's a deep black, that's very matte. There's no brushed look to it, like the regular Titanium. It really looks like black plastic more than anything. The space grey aluminum is more of grey, the space black stainless steel is very glossy and reflective.

Is the SBTI on the series 7 the same as the 6? I'm curious how it would look with the space black link bracelet.

The titanium models are tough and lighter then stainless steel. Also the titanium models come standard with Sapphire crystal display glass, not so on the SS. Having said all this I purchased the SS 45mm graphite model and love it. The titanium models are not instock currently at Apple stores. Reason why I went with SS.

All SS have sapphire

If I were you I would do some research on the black TI because it does scratch and the problem with it being black is it will show silver underneath

Could you cite the threads where you've seen this as a substantial issue for folks? ... other than the two year old posts about the S5 demo-unit that folks were trying to scratch. (and I mean regular users of the watch and who weren't using the milanese loop which is known to scratch stuff)

FWIW my year old SBTi remains in mint condition.

All SS and Ti watches have the same sapphire crystal.

Wouldn't it be so Apple to crow on about these being the most durable watches they've made, and NOT have DLC on the watches that previously had it?

It does look brushed and so much nicer than the matte plastic looking Aluminum models…

I’m probably going to get ribbed for saying this but I think the aluminium looks better than the titanium. Titanium looks plasticy. Glad I got the stainless steel.
I agree, to me the titanium looks cheaper than the SS. Looks too much like aluminum.

For me as an observer, the lighter colours look cheap and the darker ones you can't tell apart, the ones that look more premium to me from a distance are the bling ss and gold ss. As a wearer it is different of course, I like the weight and sapphire screen on my SBSS, but in some lighting it can look plasticy.

TLDR the last few pages. When I went to pickup my SS I asked to look at the graphite, mind you I went to this store a few weeks ago and asked to see an AW6 graphite and they looked at me like I had 2 heads and couldn't even find one. But on this visit the one they showed me was a dull black, almost the same as the black Ti. I made sure it didn't say titanium on the back, it did say sapphire crystal and they assured me that was the graphite.

So is the new graphite dull and not shiny?

I've seen about half a dozen posts with pictures just with google searches, of course that's hardly representative of most consumers and most likely stuff like this is very limited. The concern for me was that I abuse my watches pretty badly. My S3 SBSS is still pristine and at least with the silver SS I can buff it out. Anecdotally I had the AW5 in silver Ti and that scratched VERY easily, but I can't ever say I had any experience with the SBTi.

I want to know as well because I have a space black links band from Apple.

Will it be a better match with that SB Titanium or Graphite SS?

I have had a graphite s6 for the last year, having always owned space black stainless. For the S7, I purchased both the graphite and space black titanium. The titanium came yesterday, and I absolutely love it. Its lighter and more subdued.

I will say my S6 was very scratch prone. Apple replaced it because of a warranty issue a couple of weeks ago and I banged my wrist against something and the case had scratches. I have always had SBSS and they were always perfect and scratch free.

Hoping the titanium watch will be more scratch resistant.

Sure, it's possible to find the exceptions (many seem to be repeats/reposts of others), thus my phrasing. IMHO that concern is very overblown and shouldn't dissuade folks from an SBTi watch.

If you didn't destroy your S3 SBSS you should be fine with the SBTi (IMHO): I owned an S4 SBSS that was mint after a year when I sold it, same for my S5 SBSS that was mint when I sold it after a year. My S6 SBTi remains mint now after a year. I don't baby my watches, and I spend plenty of time doing homeowner DIY stuff as well as doing my own work on my vehicles.

You'll be pretty happy with the sbti! Mine has not got any scratches or micro-scratches at all! My natural ti got one very bad scratch soon after I got it though.

Thanks. Hoping it doesn't get scratched, I am hard on my watches for sure.

Heres a comparison of S5 SBSS and S7 Graphite SS

The S7 is the one with the strap.
