ok ok i just skimmed through all the posts, but, is there a criteria on how one decides if it is a "great album from start to finish"?

actually, a thread series about "great albums from start to finish" (insert theme here e.g. when depressed, when drinking, when having sexytime" etc.) would make the thread better (i think).

Queens of the Stone Age - Rated R
The Who - Quadrophenia
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
Queen - A Kind of Magic
The Moody Blues - Days Of Future Passed
Hatebreed - Perseverance
Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy

Another brilliant album that is great from start to finish is Newton Faulkner's Rebuilt By Humans. I could listen to it over and over, until I can hear it endlessly repeating in my head in a cycle, and I still wouldn't get sick of it. (Well maybe a little :p)

Switchfoot - Nothing is Sound
Reliant K - Forget And Not Slow Down
Jars of Clay - Good Monsters
Eric Clapton - One More Car, One More Rider (Live)
Jimmy Buffett - Live in Hawaii
Norah Jones - Come Away With Me

If i listed all of the albums i thought were great from start to finish i would need my own thread :D

So ill keep it simple. Any album by Rush is good from start to finish ;)

My Chemical Romance - I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love
Thursday - Full Collapse
MGMT - Oracular Spectacular

Just the ones off the top of my head.

Being a Kiss fan, the following three albums I can play straight through.

Detroit Rock City
Rock And Roll Over
Alive

Love those albums

I'm not sure Detroit Rock City is an album

My list:

Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Anything by Pink Floyd
Dream Theater - Metropolis Part 2: Scenes from a Memory
Queensrÿche - Operation Mindcrime
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Kiss - Music from The Elder
Cinderella - Long Cold Winter

There is an album called Detroit Rock City-- it's the soundtrack to the movie of the same name. The plot, as is expected, revolves around a Kiss concert. The soundtrack is somewhat of a Kiss/classic metal compilation.

However, the song "Detroit Rock City" originally appeared on Destroyer, if I'm not mistaken.

Although I was never much of a rock/metal fan (see my previous post in this thread), I was somewhat of a Kiss fan when I was 8 or 9 years old; I was more into the comic-book personas than the music. I did like the Ace Frehley solo album, though, and "Fractured Mirror" is on my iPod's regular rotation.

The Ramones - Rocket to Russia, Self Titled, Leaving Home

the Ramones are by far my favorite band. I own all their albums and I think the self titled and Mondo Bizarro are my fav of them all, a close runner up would be Leave Home. Another great from start to finish is Van Halen S/T

"We are Young Money" by Young Money
"Awake" by Skillet
"Recovery" by Eminem
"Meteora" by Linkin Park
"Stadium Arcadium" by Red Hot Chili Peppers

Woah, another angra fan here. I came here to post temple of shadows thinking no one else would have even heard of them. My favorite album of all time. Incredibly power and moving start to finish with an interesting non-cliched story for once.

I'd also post a Manticora album, but I can't decide which I think is most deserving.
