I am interested in getting a Timbuk2 bag for my 15" MBP. Have you tried the Medium size before buying the Large? If my MBP fits, I'd rather have a medium.

Thanks.

When I bought my Timbuk2 bag 3-4 years ago. I seem to remember that was a medium (they did say on the website "WILL FIT MACBOOK PRO 15". I dunno how the sizes are now. But I still use this bag everyday. Extremely good quality, would buy another if they made bags that were slightly more formal. The laptop messenger I have is very casual. Holds everything really well though, holds ALOT of stuff : )

I have the STM Alley bag as well and I love it. My wife and I travel alot and this fits our needs perfectly. If need be I can put both of our 13 MBP's in it and off we go. It is also my daily carry bag to and from work. I got it at Target for the super low price of 29 bucks on sale. Super small and lightweight as well.

I was looking for the same thing (a sleek good-looking bag for my MBP and not much more) and ordered the Incase Nylon Sleeve:

I'm not sure whether they are available in Canada as I haven't been back in ages but these are a couple of bags you may like on the UK Apple Store, which is where I unfortunately live. I'm sure you could find them over there.

Otherwise, if you haven't already, the Canadian apple store website would be a good place to start.

Hope this helps

How are you liking the Ally Capellino bag so far?

Timbuk2 Medium $60

The Timbuk2 Commute 2.0 is on sale at Dell US store for $60+tax for those of you with a 15" MBP. I am using this bag with my mid-2009 uMBP and it fits perfectly.
I can even fit the MBP with the Tucano second skin neoprene case on...

How about this? It's the varick nylon messenger bag from Coach.

I really, really like this. It seems to be discontinued though, as it's not on their site. They do however have a Varick mini which looks quite nice as well, and seems quite large dimensionally given the name.

Unfortunately though, I can't seem to find any pics of the inside online. Any pics?

I had a medium with my 13" uMBP and it was a good fit. The 15" would probably fit, but you wouldn't be able to sleeve it or use a hardcase.

It's not leather, but I have one of these, from Targus, whose products tend to be well-priced and well-built:

The bag still looks good after about four years of heavy use. Everything has held up well save for the rubber zipper pulls on my model, which eventually pulled off-- a minor cosmetic issue, you can't even tell they were once there. I travel constantly, and used to use a shoulder bag, but having both hands free is a blessing. This one may be too big for you (I carry two laptops in it, plus all the associated crap such as chargers, cables, etc., and assorted sundry personal items) but there might be others in the Targus line worth looking at. This one replaced a much-costlier Tumi backpack and is just as functional.

If you're set against a backpack, you might find a sling-type bag that's more to your liking and would still allow the hands-free benefits.

I used to have the fabric version of this bag, but it's now discontinued. The last of the leather versions is now on sale:

Briggs and Riley, however, has a nice wide variety of bags and I bet you can find one to suit your needs:

Thanks for showing me this, I am now in love with this bag: http://www.briggs-riley.com/category/productDetail.aspx?id=Go-Messenger-Bag_VB410

It says it fits most 15" laptops. Would a 13" be loose and move around too much?

I guess you didn't see my post where I said that I already bought the medium Commute 2.0 and I am able to fit my 15" mid-2009 uMBP with the Tucano Second Skin case :D

Thanks for the link just ordered one also for my 15' MBP unibody (mid 2009) as well... :)

Nice! I am sure you'll enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine... Very versatile and good quality bag. I wish DELL had other colors at this price point, but black goes well with anything and fits many situations (e.g., school, work, office, etc).

I'm looking for a bag to hold a 13" Mac and power cord, compact digital camera, one small notebook book and pen, few usb sticks, iphone, wallet, keys and that's about it.

A leather bag would be ideal, something all purpose, suitable whether I'm taking it to work or to the cottage .... in suit, jeans or sweatpants

Messenger Bags
Often are too large, plus I don't like the flap... I'd rather have a zipper than flip open the flap every time you want to grab something.

Backpacks
Are my favorite, but it's really hard to find a small/medium size backpack for everyday use.

'man bag'
too small for a 13" notebook, leather ones look lady like ...

Anyone have a decent medium sized 'go every where' bag ...
I can help you find the right bags for you

Hope it will help you.
