I've had the same bag for about three years now, and I absolutely love it. It's very comfortable, surprisingly roomy, and offers a good amount of protection for your notebook. I routinely cram my MacBook, 2 or more textbooks, power cord, etc. into it. Highly recommended!

I loved that bag it was pretty neat, but it was really thin and cheap feeling and didn't have any padding what so ever. I got a Louis Vuitton bag on the way for my 13 inch pro.

I don't care for the STM bags either.

Which LV bag did you order?

I'm a business man yet I'd prefer a small (leather) notebook backpack I think ... messengers seem a little bulky, the small messengers and vertical ones I've seen look a little on the man bag side, you never have that problem with a backpack ... but for business a backpack isn't the bag of choice for most....

People in suits with backpacks are a pet peeve of mine. IMO, they look ridiculous, especially if they have a suit and a casual backpack or hiking pack. That said, I use to have a Tumi Balance backpack which was pretty good for my 15" MB Pro, but I think it's been discontinued.

This is really nice, don't know if it's been posted yet..

called the Muzetto

comes in different colours and sizes..

Here's one that I think will work. It's leather, great for business casual and everyday / everywhere use...

It's a little larger than I'd like but better too big than too small and it seems impossible to find a small leather backpack.

What do you think - for an everyday computer bag... good choice?

I bought the Oakley Sandbag 2.0 for my mbp 13", big mistake. It's a sling bag whose clips snap off with any pressure and cause the bag to fall off while you wear but, luckily it converts into the most uncomfortable backpack you've ever worn too. I'm simply looking for a sling/messenger bag with a modern contemporary design that doesn't make me look like I'm in school or I bought a computer bag from my local office supply store. I like the booq bags but, I don't care for the styles much.

My search continues!

I just got a 15" muzetto + sleeve from them last week and couldn't be happier. If you can fit it in your budget i can't recommend it enough. Hangs real nice on your side and it doesn't feel bulgy when i fill it up with magsafe and random gear.

I'm still undecided ... it's hard to find a small backpack for a 13" notebook just big enough to hold the notebook, a 1" binder, wallet, phone, adapter and that's about it. Either the backpacks for small notebooks are to slim to hold anything but the notebook itself and most other backpacks are huge, so much so the 13" gets lost in there, lol ....

Backpacks are most comfortable to carry I think, and don't really get classed as a 'man-bag' whereas if you go with a small shoulder bag like a small messenger or a vertical bag such as the Tom Bihn Ristretto or STM small Alley Bag they're in the shoulder bag category, maybe not as comfortable to carry compared to a backpack but smaller is nice for everyday....

Any other users of the Ristretto or STM Alley or any other small bags for a 13"?

Here's an 'everyday' bag worth consideration maybe, it's a backpack, a shoulder bag and a briefcase ... 3 in 1 ...

Anyone have the Eagle Creek World Commuter, nice bag take a look >

If you interested in that, I'd suggest looking at the Timbuk2 Outtawack bag. I just got a month ago for $50 and I'm very impressed. It has top zipper access to your files and laptop and like the above bag, it can be carried multiple ways. I went with the black/grey/black as it's the most professional looking. I've received many compliments on it already.

I gotta post about my favorite bag, as I didn't want to always have a book bag and messenger bag. It's the BBP Hybrid hamptons. There are good pics on the site. I only have some crappy ones. Comes in 4 sizes, S, M, L, XL depending on your laptop size.

You pick a size exactly for your macbook. It has a seperate padded compartment for the notebook, and a large bag area for carrying binders/papers (anything) and plenty of pockets for chargers/accessories. I use the side mesh pocket for a water bottle, and the other side for an umbrella. In back pack mode it rides low down to the butt, keeps my back cool, helps posture and makes the load easier to carry. When I want a messenger bag, I just convert it to messenger mode.

That's looks gigantic for a day pack! I've been using my Tom Bihn.IMAGO now for a few weeks and can't recommend it enough.

That's because there's 4 sizes. for everything from 13 inchers to 20inchers.

(not going to find a tiny bag that holds a 17inch MBP... unless there's some magic involved. and if so I want one.)

OK. For a 17" that makes sense. I wouldn't trust mine to a flimsy bag either (I use a TOm Bihn Brain Cell and the Empire Builder combination)

For some reason I thought the OP was looking for a smaller bag that *could* hold a 13" MBP/MBA and then work as a day pack without the laptop.

personally i have always preferred backpacks to shoulder bags purely because if im walking around for a whole day then a shoulder bag tends to make my shoulder ache so backpacks tend to be suited to me a bit better

I am going to order this as soon as im payed

Ristretto from Tom Bihn

I think I'm going to try the Ristretto Bag from Tom Bihn. They're back ordered and don't ship until mid-October ... must be a popular bag.

Anyone here using the Ristretto?
