No kidding, he is fast!!!! Now lets see how many more treads we get with in the next 30 mins... I'm gonna say 15...

Considering it's been out for a whole what 5 minutes we won't know for a little while longer the difference between pois0n and limera1n.

thx.

Anyone use it yet? And if I want to preserve baseband, does anyone know if I still need to wait for pwnage?

Upgrade to iOS 4.1 with Tiny Umbrella running its TSS server. The baseband will not be upgraded.

This is the best explanation I have read as to why this works out:

If you're on 4.1 with the 1.59.00 baseband, restoring with 4.1 using Tiny Umbrella will leave your 1.59.00 baseband intact.

Signature hashes from Apple are required to install a new baseband on the iPhone 4 (similarly to the operating system). Since Tiny Umbrella only signs hashes for the operating system, the baseband won't get written to the iPhone 4 during a restore (if using Tiny Umbrella), no matter what version you're restoring to.

not sure either, just downloaded it and think ill give it a try as with limera1n seemed to break MMS.

thanks. Was about to go to bed and decided to check macrumors one last time. There's not even anything up on the dev-team's blog yet (though I haven't refreshed it for about ten minutes...maybe should go do that right now....)

yep, I was hoping to see the news on google somewhere also, but guess we're a few of the first to try it lol.

greenpois0n only works on firmware 4.1, so (only if you have an iPhone 4!) if you are on a lower firmware make sure you use TinyUmbrella to preserve your baseband.

So it doesn't work for 4.02?

I am so unlucky hahaha, after following twitter for the whole day (chronic dev team) and thinking "screw it", I jailbroke my iPod 4th Gen with limera1n.. hahaha.... and now this comes out.

Fortunately I did a quick restore on iTunes (thank God I had the ipsw file for 4.1 lying around) and now I am off to try greenp0ison.

CDT blog says it works on the following devices:

This release of greenpois0n supports:
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 3G S
- iPod touch (4th Generation)
- iPod touch (3rd Generation)
- iPad

I'd quite like to know what the difference is between this and limera1n. I JB with LR Beta 4 and it seems absolutely fine for me, no bugs at all.

Anyone else going to restore and rejailbreak? limera1n had too many issues

For those that are already jailbroken and have no problems, what is the rush to try to fix something is not broken????????
