no issues with limera1n. I have a second ip4 that is sitting on my shelf that is jb with lime but I plan on restoring and trying green

I tried that, no avail.

Then I tried to apply greenpois0n again, and it said it failed.
Then I tried once again, and it said it was good.
Restarted iPod, no cydia icon. Maybe I could have just tried to at least use limera1n and not uninstall it so quick :D

Edit: On the blog announcement there are a few people complaining about this issue.. perhaps it's a bug. Shrugs... 2 sleep hours wasted and my boss will kill me today for being really late :(

guys, read that greenpoison is a permanent jailbreak? Does this mean we'll not need to re-jailbreak and cydia apps will still remain even after updating to new firmware, say iOS 4.2 when its released? thanks

No, they'll get removed as soon as you update. It just means that you'll be able to jailbreak again after you install 4.2

Wow. I'm in awe there are still these questions around.

On a related note, I just re-jailbroke my iPhone 4 5x today. lol Not because of limera1n, but because I was testing things and backing up stuff for experimental purposes. Worked like a charm every round.

I'm on 4.0.2 and my 'baseband' is 01.59.00 - if I update the new iTunes tonight and update to 4.1 will this be okay to JB my iP4? (first time JB'er) or do I need to preserve my baseband, and why?

If you update to 4.1 normally you will update your baseband. It will go from the unlockable 01.59.00 to the newer 2.XX.XX (i cant remember the exact number) which cannot be unlocked at this time. So if you update using tiny umbrella it will have your OS as 4.1 and your baseband still at 01.59.00 meaning you have the option to unlock. This is not to be dismissed because you dont need to unlock, you may want to sell it in 12 months and an unlockable phone is worth more than a locked phone.

Assuming you are using an iPhone 4 with a Windows machine, follow this guide to save your SHSH and upgrade to 4.1 using tinyumbrella while preserving your 01.59.00 baseband: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=12134

If you use a mac, then follow this guide: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=12136

Then after you have upgraded to 4.1 with baseband 01.59.00, proceed to jailbreak using greenpoison or limera1n.
 
Can someone please clarify? Do you lose all your data (i.e. game saves) when you update to 4.1 with TinyUmbrella? Does greenpois0n give you a cooked .ipsw or something else?

Thanks for your help guys! As per the sig I use a mac, so will wait for greenpois0n for mac and go from there, in the mean time I will upgrade tonight using TU

tried 3 times, it doesnt seem to be working for me either. I just rejailbroke with limera1n successfully again. Everything seems to be working perfectly again. Wonder what the issue is?

Can we just run Limerain right after trying GP or do I need to restore again first??
