I can’t seem to get past the Jailbreak stage. I keep getting Jailbreak Failed errors after the DFU stage. Any ideas? I’ve tried changing USB ports and that doesn’t seem to help… I have the correct firmware and baseband. Not sure where I’m going wrong.

Hi Guys thanks for such a quick update on here.

Will be attempting to do this tonight.

Any news or ideas when an unlock will be available so I can open a UK Vodafone 4 to use with 02

Sorry if its a lame question.

Thanks in advance

Chris

GP does install cydia. Just that the icon is invisible. Try tapping it.

Yip, there's definitely a bug in GP - I have no cydia icon either, I tried pressing all the empty spaces incase it was just that there is no icon but its a no go... Looks like I'll have to go back to LimeRa1n... :(

Just confirming the same as everyone else, restored to get rid of limera1n then ran GP several times, no cydia icon appears, I'm going back to Limera1n

basically wasted a day of redownloading tweaks and stuff from cydia

Update: Now Limera1n won't install? Giving up on this tonight and will try again in the morning.

Hi,
Dont know if its a noob question or intelligent.. please answer

number 1
So if I upgrade to 4.1 using tinyUmbrella I understand my baseband will be preserved to 01.59.00 which is cool as i need to unlock

but after that if I do restore or sync or change from limera1n to green poison, is there any challenges where in my baseband could update itslef ??

or unless I update again it will remain the same

number 2
I understand Green Poison is bootrom exploit which means once JBroken with GP in 4.1 it can also be jbroken in future..
does that mean for eternity or it can still be patched?

regards
S

Wow

It seems that "GreenPoin0n" has alot of bugs ! lots of people are complaining about it !
i think i will stick to limera1n for the mean time ! in any case it works !

can anyone explain why alot of people are still trying to use GreenPoi0n ?? and why it seems better than limera1n ??

i must be missing something !! :confused::confused:

Just people willing to try it out, with time to waste I guess you could say lol. Besides if no one else beta tests then who else will?

Hey I am at 4.0.1 on my iPhone 4 unlocked with ultrasn0w. If I update to 4.1 with tiny umbrella, can I jailbreak with greenposi0n and use ultrasn0w to unlock it?

Same problem here.

I can't get limera1n to work either. It appears to work, but puts a white icon for the app and the app doesn't start.

If we are already on 4.1 we just run this bad boy and we're set? I already used tiny umbrella to preserve my baseband

guys, read that greenpoison is a permanent jailbreak? Does this mean we'll not need to re-jailbreak and cydia apps will still remain even after updating to new firmware, say iOS 4.2 when its released? thanks

No, they'll get removed as soon as you update. It just means that you'll be able to jailbreak again after you install 4.2

There seems to be a lot of different info floating around out there. Someone please confirm....

If GP only works for 4.1 then how can you say " It just means that you'll be able to jailbreak again after you install 4.2"

I must be missing something here.

Please advise.

That should mean it has worked. Restart your phone then go into it.

Nope.

The app doesn't start. It loads for about one second, then crashes. Doesn't give me the option to start Cydia.

edit: Oh, and it doesn't replace the apple logo on the startup screen either

You will always have to;

  • jailbreak after every iOS upgrade.
  • Re-install all jb apps and potentially wait for them to support the new iOS.

A 'permanent' jailbreak means you will not have to wait for the dev team to discover a new exploit.
