Phil, Phil, Phil! always a great presence at the Apple keynotes and demos, he definitely was a core part of Apple's DNA.

the newer leadership, no offense to them, come across like corporate shills and dont seem like they are in anyway innovators or ones that "think different"
All I can say is that Phil better be the one who present the next iPhones. I mean he is still in charge of the Apple events no?

hope phil still takes part in the keynotes, he's a great presenter
I agree with you 💯 percent! I'm waiting to yell out "Phil! Phil! Phil! If Tim Cook announces his name for the upcoming iPhone event. Due to the news of him becoming a fellow on August I've been thinking that for the first time I am actually looking forward to Tim announcing that Phil will announce the iPhone 12 more than announcement of the iPhone 12 itself lol!

For those of you scoring at home, that's another White Male Executive from one of the most 'woke' companies in the world.
While I don’t necessarily disagree completely with the statement, a lot of these people get promoted from within. If a dude’s been in a VP position for years and the President moves on, the VP with similar experience in the company as the one he’s replacing shouldn’t get the job, or at least be heavily considered? What you happen to be pointing out are the remnants of troubled culture being labeled as for men only for many years. Sure there were some brilliant women involved over the years, but sexism was a lot more prevalent 2-3 decades ago preventing a lot of advancements. I think we will definitely be seeing a lot more diversity on the leadership page as those lower level minorities gain experience and work their way up.

To address this specific point-- the average bricks and mortar retailer has capital tied up in inventory. Apple and oranges.

No, not really. Apple has plenty of capital tied up in maintaining servers, offering support and paying employees. I work with retailers. Lowe’s, Depot, you name it. They have payment terms. 90 days, plus. We all factor our invoices. Tractor Supply asks for 365 day terms. Yeah, you read that right. No, retailers don’t tie up money in inventory. At least not the way you think. Plus, everyone is moving toward JIT supply. MOQ is now down to absurdly low levels. They still expect you to offer “mark down” dollars. You simply don’t know how the industry works and that’s okay. I don’t expect you to and I would likely have the same impressions as you if I didn’t know how it actually works. Apple has margins. If you don’t like it, don’t sell to them. It’s pretty simple.

Think about retailers. They gross 50% but net less than 20% an average. It cost money to run a business. Apple has every right to earn revenue by bringing a developer millions of users. Same as Lowe’s has every right to get good cost from us and support to mark down existing inventory because we’ll bring in millions in revenue by working with them.

I know this is going to upset people me saying this, but it's just me.
I'm glad Phil is moving on as I just can't stop looking at the issues he has with his face.
He has Millions, Tens/Hundreds of millions of dollars?
And won't go to see a doctor to get those things removed?
Hell, I don't have anything like 1 million as I'd be straight to see my doctor and wanting to get booked in to get them removed.

Nothing against Tim Cook, but I would have loved to see Phil as CEO. Mostly for his genuine love and enthusiasm for all Apple products!

I agree. Tim Cook is arguably a more accomplished CEO than even Steve Jobs. Look at the financials. The problem is that a company is not just about revenue. Tim Cook has a finance background. He’s not a visionary in that sense. I have tremendous respect for him, but come on... 256GB as a base storage in a desktop computer in 2020 is a joke. That’s just penny pinching. I would imagine things would look differently if Phil was running the business. On the other hand, we could have had 7 cameras on the iPhone by now. The man is clearly into cameras and photography.

Rumor has it that Apple is announcing a new logo to reflect its Board and vision.

I fear the day that Craig moves to Fellow (or out of Apple entirely) as he is my favorite part of the keynotes, I feel like all the key people are moving on one by one. I know it is inevitable, but still.

When Craig started appearing after Jobs passed, he was the most refreshing Thring about Apple keynotes. I really hope he heads the company toward the end of his career. For now, I like the work he's doing where he's at.

Extortion? Don’t like the terms? Don’t publish in their store. Pretty simple. Average American retailer needs 50% gross margins. That’s what you’re paying in the store over what they’ve paid for the goods. Why should Apple be any different? The store doesn’t run itself. It’s not a charity either. It’s a profit center.

I personally don't like this dude, he always came across as rather arrogant to me.

But my opinion is always subject to change with more exposure / people can change
I agree and am comically bitter about his statement on “courage” in removing the “headphone jack.” But I acknowledge he’s been an important part of everything I’ve loved about Apple, too. Being in the same age group as him and Jony and Eddy, I can’t help but be kind of sad at seeing these guys phase out of active daily involvement with Apple. My generation is starting its ride off into the sunset. Sigh

lol, I wonder if “personal projects” means the same things for these guys as it does for the guys I know...FINALLY having time to clean and organize their garages!

If you told me this guy's name was a fictionalized version of Steve Wozniak, I would believe you.

I find it annoying the amount of different presenters they have in keynotes now just to be pc. Some don’t even make sense they are just shoe horned in for 30 seconds. None of the new team are likeable.

Phil and Craig are probably the only likeable two people left who speak at keynotes. Hoping Phil still introduces products but doesn’t look likely since he’s been absent from the last couple of keynotes.

I don’t think Apple is trying to be politically correct. These people are on stage presenting certain products because they are the ones working on them, and would thus be in the best position to share on them. I also see it as recognition of their effort and contributions that they get to share about their work, rather than outsource to someone who may have had nothing to do with its development.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Joz mumbles and doesn't talk as clearly as any other presenter on stage? His volume is also quite quiet, and I have to turn up my computer volume to hear him speak. Plus, he really lacks intonation, always so monotonous without excitment in his speech.
