Hey everyone,

I have been eyeing the Griffin BreakSafe Magnetic USB-C Power Cable as I am disappointed with the removal of MagSafe.

I am wondering if the current BreakSafe rated for 60W will work with the 15" Macbook Pro?

I understand that the 15" is rated for 87W and not 60W like the BreakSafe cable is advertised as. Would it simply provide a slower charge, or would I also have to purchase the 60W power brick from apple in order to use the Griffin USB-C BreakSafe?

Thank you in advanced

I'm guessing it should work, just at slower speeds.

I've been using my girlfriends' 13" chargers on my 15" MBPs for 6 years now, nothing has ever happened, except it charges a bit slower.

I would wait a few weeks at this point to see if Griffin puts out an 87W BreakSafe cable, I'd be surprised if they didn't. I'm very interested in this as a replacement for MagSafe, and am hopeful other cable manufacturers will produce their own solution as well.

got very interested in this cable after this thread.
But after reading some reviews on amazon, I'll wait for another brand or version 2 ...
