Thanks for the heads-up. I'm going to return it and see if I can find something else I like.

Dammit! Mine has the same flash issue! I can, however, confirm that the Belkin Vue I also picked up to try does NOT have the flash issue. Guess that decides which one I'm taking back!

I can confirm that the Belkin Vue doesn't have the same issue.

edit: I WAS WRONG!!!

This sucks. I thought I picked a real winner for a case.

I hope some better cases come out soon. (before my best buy return policey is over).

One thing I noticed though is that close up shots do NOT suffer from this effect.

My husband has this case on his phone. He just tried it and it produced the same effect. He removed the case and used a black Sharpie around the edge of the cutout and says that it now looks exactly the same with and without the case.

Genius!!!

This makes sense, it's the clear and translucent cases that seem to have the problem...so far. They react to the flash either reflecting it or refracting it and bouncing it back into the lens...kinda sucks.

i'd like to see photos of this if possible...?

Very interesting -- I am going to try this! I only seem to get the haze off and on with this case.

I'm hoping someone else will try this and offer some photographic proof, before I get magic marker all over the place. Can't imagine what Best Buy would think if I tried to return it like that lol wut?

I'll see if he can send me the pictures...

Did he just use the sharpie on the inner edges of the camera/flash hole or all around that whole area?

He said, "I used the edge of the Sharpie around the edge of the hole. I also think that something a little 'thicker', like a paint marker, would work even better."

Here are the pictures:

Can someone explain where exactly to place the marker for the Vue? On the inside or outside? Anyone got pics of the marker?

What a stellar tip! zea mays, kudos to your husband. It is so much better than my destructive plan of scraping some off the edge

Silly me, I bought this case this morning before checking the forum for reviews. But it's all good now. Did the sharpie trick. Here are my results:
