Can you return it once you sharpie'd it all up?

I didn't know about the sharpie thing. I tried it and it works. I guess I will keep it. [Forgot to edit that out once I updated it] If I did return it, a little rubbing alcohol would probably take the sharpie off anyways.

Anyone know if it's possible to cut out the back of the griffin completely? Is it possible and if so would the rubber part stay on? I ask his because the apple bumpers are impossible to find.

I returned the Griffin Reveal and picked up the iFrogz red/black Luxe Original case Sucks that I had to take off my Zagg in order to use it, but the rubbery Zagg won't be missed much anyway.

This exactly.

I liked the Reveal at first, but the dust collecting up in the back of it was driving me crazy. I took mine back today and bought the pink/black Luxe Original at AT&T. I had the same problem with my Zagg. It lifted because the fit of the ifrogz is so close. Like you though, I don't miss it. I liked it at first too, but I started to notice vertical lines on mine. I will eventually put another screen protector on, but the Zagg is all I could find, and I don't want another one.

I have the belkin and it works fine flash wise after I painted the edge - with sharpie, paint stick, etc. - make sure the case is on completely and the phone pressed up against the face of the camera opening. Then the flash shot is clean.

Can anyone post a pic of what the case looks like on the phone after the sharpie fix has been done.

this sharpie idea is very smart. kudos. it works.

oh i was wrong about the belkin vue initially. enough ambient light was hiding the effect, but a marker fixes it.

it's rough, but it works pretty well...

how does the Reveal Case look like?? does it really collect a lot of dust on the inside??

also is the screen covered with the Reveal?

At first I bought the Belkin Vue case then returned it and wanted to try out the Griffin Reveal.

After using both, the reveal felt very very cheap compared to the Belkin Vue, so I went back for the third time and returned the Reveal for the Vue.

I just did the sharpie trick around the camera hole and can confirm this fixed the washed out image look. I am now satisfied with my purchase!

When I had one on my 3GS, it collected dust on the inside. My bezel was also pretty scratched up as well. Some of the dirt that accumulated caused scratches and gouges in the housing.

The screen is not covered.

I applaud the effort, but honestly, it would piss me off spending $25 bucks on a case and having to resort to this. I have the same one and will be waiting for the Black Pearl color to come out (Belkin says Mid-July) to see if it resolves this issue....

there's no way I would use any hard case on my iPhone. you guys are just begging to get the rear part of the phone scratched up.

The belkin vue is pretty soft...plus this isn't the 3G/S, the back is not plastic. And while the glass may shatter if you drop it, dust is not going to scratch it. Plus i'm putting my wrapsol on once i get and then the case again for SOME drop protection.

There's not much selection in stores now...this will suffice until a real case company like incase steps in with some good product. I like DIY fixes anyways. It's just a case.

So this happens with the Griffin reveal (I know, I have one) and the vue. What other cases does this happen with? Any case that isn't black on the keyhole?

People on the UK o2 forum are claiming they use this case and there's no problem with the flash.

What causes th problem and do you think that the ones in the UK are different in any way?

Same problem

I have the same problem on a cheap Rocketfish case that I bought from BB. I'm only planning on using it temporarily because of the BB return policy, but it is frustrating. Let's hope these newer cases won't have the same issues...

Wow

I just started a new thread and someone pointed out the same problem to me. Seems like everything one has dropped the ball in some form for this new iPhone launch!
