The Apple Watch is designed to remain dark until a wearer raises his or her arm. In the prototypes worn around the Cupertino campus at the end of last year, this feature was still glitchy. For Marc Newson, it took three attemptsan escalation of acting styles, from naturalism to melodramabefore his screen came to life.
Even if the battery life was better, you wouldn't want to sleep with a watch that will wake-up accidentally constantly.
No silly... You won't have to worry about that because you'll probably have to charge it every night, and you can't charge it while it's on your wrist![]()
It is only about a 350 to 450mAh battery so you could easily charge it while taking a shower/getting ready. There should be no reason why you can't get a 90% or so charge in less that an hour.
When did they announce that it was a 350-450 mAh battery? I don't remember that...
Raise-to-wake won't work 100%..
Hopefully they'll have an alternate, like tapping to watch/screen, like Nike Sportwatch...
Because Apple won't have this figured out by launch? That anecdote was from last year.

I think the Apple watch won't be like an iPhone event on day one. many will wait to see one in person. I do think however it will catch like wildfire and people will want them once they see them in public. Kids will want them for Xmas and that will be the big item for the holidays.
Luckily, she likes the Sport model the best.

Nobody ever mentions the kids element. My ten year old daughter took one look at them and immediately wanted one. Luckily, she likes the Sport model the best.
Does your ten-year old daughter have an iPhone?
If not, the Apple watch is going to be very limited in functionality. In fact, some have speculated that you might need an iPhone just to get music onto the watch, so even if you just wanted to use it as an MP3 player, you might still need an iPhone.
But come to think of it, that could be the big surprise -- Apple comes out with an "iPod watch" that takes the place of the iPod nano in the iPod lineup and is basically the watch minus any feature that requires an Internet connection.
Yeah but the iPod touch haven't enough power.
Confused.
What do you mean the iPod Touch would not have enough power to work alongside the Apple Watch ?
Yeah, the A5 chip is to old to run Watch app moreover IOS on the iPod Touch.
I am confused as to why something as small and low power as the Apple Watch, needs a POWERHOUSE of another iOS device to keep the watch running?
